291 <br />MEETING April 5; 1937 <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, April 5, <br />19361 at 10:30 A. M. All members were present. <br />Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Claims in the amount of $140.78, from the following suppliers, were approved <br />and ordered paid. <br />Indiana Bell Telephone Co. $8.40 Weisberger Bros. $13.35 <br />• No. Ind. Public Service Co. 1.25 Martin Kaniewski 37.50 <br />Frederick's Plumbing & Heat. Co. 20.55 V. J. Miller 11.10 <br />G. E. Meyer & Son, Inc. 8.$4 Gafill Oil Company 1.95 <br />G. E.- Meyer & Son, Inc. 2.83 Gafill Oil Company 25'*26 <br />South Bend Clean Towel Service 8.75 Indiana-& Mich. Electric Co. 1.60 <br />Mr. .Longenecker, City Sexton, submitted his report of the operations of the <br />cemetery for the month of March, showing receipts amounting to $540.50. This report <br />is on file in the -office of the Board of Public Works. <br />Communication was received from the Studebaker Corporation petitioning that the <br />alley running north and south next to the old No. 2 Fire Station, also the east and <br />west alley north of it, be vacated. This matter was referred to the Engineering <br />Department for investigation and recommendation. <br />Continuation certificate covering excavation bond of the Sollitt Construction <br />Company was approved by the Board. <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the Assessment Roll showing awards <br />of damages and th�����as essment of benefits in the matter of vacation of alley east <br />of Webster Streetllenthe north line of Lot 1 to the south line of Lot 4 in Toth's <br />Addition, same being Vacation Resolution No. 2487. <br />In the above -naffed assessment roll no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />• remonstrances were filed. The Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of delivery of <br />notices and same were found to be sufficient. The Board, therefore, finds that the <br />several lots and parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts <br />shown on said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said <br />Assessment Roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved <br />without modification and proceedings closed and the alley vacated. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A.
