W. Paterson and Mr. 11. H. Utter of the Northern Ir_diana Railway were <br />i present and presented petition signed by merchants operating on I;1ichigan Street, <br />requesting that unloading zone be established. on the north side of Washington Street <br />east of Michigan Street to make it possible for the Ruilw,-ay Company to change its <br />loading station from the Court House to the above location. This matter was fully <br />discussed with them and the Board felt it could not at this time favor the establish- <br />ment of such a zone and took the matter under advisement for later consideration. <br />A petition signed by ten property of^, ,.ers &-d residents 'Etas ?resented to the <br />Board, requesting that the alley from. Bendix Drive to Goodland Avenue be graded. The <br />matter was taken up with 1;4r. Weer to investigate and report at the next meeting. <br />• Mr. Weer submitted his report of the activities of. the Street and Setil.er Depart- <br />ments for the month of January, vhich report is on file in the office of the Board <br />of Public Works. <br />Excavation bond in favor of Joseph 1. Hiznay ir the amount of one thousand <br />dollars was approved by the Board. <br />The matter of City Directorys for use in the City Hall and other departments <br />;was discussed and it was decided to purchase from R. L. Polk & Company eleven <br />directorys, one for each of the following: Board of Works office, Building Department <br />office, Electrical Department office, City Clerk's office, Engineering Department <br />office, Fire Department, Street Department, Cemetery Department, Police Traffic <br />';Desk, Detective Bureau and Desk Sergeant. <br />j Mr. Anderson, City Civil Engineer, submitted re -distribution of assessments <br />;which were approved by the Board as folloiks: <br />February 1, 1937 <br />STREETS IN LINCOLN ALA -NOR 3D ADDITION, GRADE, CURB & WALK <br />Roll No. 1939 <br />Reso No. 1665 <br />Dup.
