265 <br />MEETING January 11, 1937 <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, January 11, <br />1937, at 10:30 o'clock. Mr. Anderson was absent. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Claims in the amount of $1,694.45, from the following suppliers, were approved <br />and ordered paid, also payrolls in the various departments amounting to 3,941.83. <br />Western Union Telegraph Co. .95' The Singer Manufacturing Co. $5.00 <br />• South Bend Welding & Boiler Rep. 35.80 The C. B. Dolge Company 49°.00 <br />Lontz Bros. 81.80 J. M. Studebaker, Jr. and <br />G. 0. Thurn 1.40 Grace S. Fish 1,500.00 <br />G. 0. Thurn for <br />B. J. McCaffery, P. M. 20.50 <br />Mr. Qualls reported on a petition of the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company <br />for the installation of duct lines and underground cables on drawings furnished by <br />them No. 360141 and 36-142. Mr. Qualls recommended the petition be granted and the <br />Indiana & Michigan Electric were so notified. Petition i-s on file in the office of <br />the Board of Public Works. <br />A communication was received from the Mayor recommending that the City owned <br />car -used by the Milk Inspector be not marked or painted to disclose its identity in <br />line with recent request of the Common Council. The Board concurred in this for the <br />reason that such marking might hamper him in the performance of his duties. <br />Excavation bond in favor of John G. Kessler in the Indemnity Insurance Company <br />was approved. <br />Continuation certificates on former bonds in favor of William Otterstein & Son, <br />Edward Tannehill and Robert L.
