Wilson <br />44.00 <br />The Frederick Post Co. <br />22.07 <br />Martin Kaniewski <br />37.50 <br />South Bend Sand & Gravel Corp. <br />3.20 <br />A petition, signed by thirty-three residents, was referred to the Board -by the <br />Common Council, requesting that the northwest and southeast corners of the inter- <br />section of Walnut and LaPorte Avenues be cut back, so that said streets may be <br />widened for the protection of pedestrians as well as automobiles and other moving <br />vehicles. The matter was referred to the Engineering Department for investigation. <br />A petition, signed by forty residents and property owners, was referred to the <br />Board by the Common Council, requesting that Portage Avenue, from Navarre Street to <br />Keller Street, be paved and widened and that the street car be replaced with bus <br />service; also that a new concrete viaduct replace the wooden one over the railroad <br />on Portage Avenue; also that an electric traffic signal be placed on Portage Avenue <br />where Diamond, Blaine and Angella intersect; also that a new bridge be built over the <br />river at Angella Boulevard. This petition was referred to the Engineering Department <br />for investigation and recommendation. <br />A communication was received from the Colpaert Realty Corporation, stating that <br />they would remove the pier at the corner of Mishawaka Avenue and Twyckenham Drive <br />within the next few days. Communication was placed on file. <br />Continuation certificates covering excavation bonds in favor of the following <br />were approved and placed on file: <br />Thillman Bros. <br />Adolph Dutrieux & Company <br />United Heating & Plumbing Company <br />Jacob M. Singler <br />Herman L. Neupert <br />William J. Turnock <br />Excavation bond in the National Casualty Company in favor of J. L.
