253 <br />TINE November 16, 1936 <br />Regular,meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, November 16, 1936, <br />at 10:30 A. U. Mr. hunter was absent. <br />Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Maims in the amount of $7,524.11, from the following suppliers, were -approved <br />and ordered paid. <br />Indiana Bell 'Telephone Co. $2.65' <br />• Indiana & Miehigan. Alectrie Co-. 7,48a.64 <br />Business Systems, Inc.3.00 <br />Edw. Fleming for B. J. McOaffery 7.00 <br />Soper Sales Company 12.50 <br />George Wyman & Co. 4.32 <br />G. E. Meyer & Soh, Inc. 12.00 <br />Mr. Jahn Bmazkowski was present at the meeting and discussed a petition sub- <br />mitted by the Civic Central Committee to improve Western avenue. The matter was <br />taken under advisement and Mr. Buezkowsski informed that, if possible, a special <br />meeting of the Board would be held on Wednesday afternoon when all: members would <br />be present to discuss the matter further. <br />• A -summons was served on -Mr. Anderson, as a member of the Board, comffianding <br />appearance in Circuit Court onJanuary7, 1937 regarding sale of certain real estate <br />belonging to the estate of Lasow Barth. This matter was referred to the City Attorney <br />For investigation and recommendation. <br />A petition signed by Grant Lewis and others for the improvement of alley between <br />Broadway and Pennsylvania Avenue From Rush Street west was referred to the Street <br />Department for investigation, and it was reeomended that this improvement be done if <br />it can be arranged with W. P. A. labor. <br />A petition was received from the residents and property owners in the vicinity <br />of Orange Street end Olive Street, complaining regarding the :spotting of coal cars <br />by the South Shore Railway at that location. This petition was referred to the <br />Board of Public Works by the Council, to whom it was addressed and the Board now <br />refers the matter to the City Attorney for investigation. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A.
