253 TINE November 16, 1936 Regular,meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, November 16, 1936, at 10:30 A. U. Mr. hunter was absent. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Maims in the amount of $7,524.11, from the following suppliers, were -approved and ordered paid. E. Meyer & Soh, Inc. 12.00 Mr. Jahn Bmazkowski was present at the meeting and discussed a petition sub- mitted by the Civic Central Committee to improve Western avenue. The matter was taken under advisement and Mr. Buezkowsski informed that, if possible, a special meeting of the Board would be held on Wednesday afternoon when all: members would be present to discuss the matter further. • A -summons was served on -Mr. Anderson, as a member of the Board, comffianding appearance in Circuit Court onJanuary7, 1937 regarding sale of certain real estate belonging to the estate of Lasow Barth. This matter was referred to the City Attorney For investigation and recommendation. A petition signed by Grant Lewis and others for the improvement of alley between Broadway and Pennsylvania Avenue From Rush Street west was referred to the Street Department for investigation, and it was reeomended that this improvement be done if it can be arranged with W. P. A. labor. A petition was received from the residents and property owners in the vicinity of Orange Street end Olive Street, complaining regarding the :spotting of coal cars by the South Shore Railway at that location. This petition was referred to the Board of Public Works by the Council, to whom it was addressed and the Board now refers the matter to the City Attorney for investigation.
