This report is on file <br />in <br />the office of the Board of Public Works <br />This being the date set for continued hearing on Vacation Resolution #2486, being <br />vacation of alley north of Lincoln Way West from Chicago Street to Sheridan Avenue, by <br />regular motion seconded and carried this hearing was continued for five weeks to <br />November 9 th. <br />his. Qualls reported upon the petition for the establishment of a street light at <br />Jackson Street and Colfax Avenue. After fully investigating the lighting in that <br />vicinity, la. walls recommended that this installation be not approved. <br />1r. Qualls reported upon the request of 1:r. Carter, colored, for a light in front <br />of the Church at North Birdsell Street and Listen Street. A fter carefully investigati.nE <br />the matter, 1.s. Qualls recommiended that a 1000 lumen lamp be installed in front of <br />the Church, so that the entrance may be lighted, the cost of -same being $19 .80 per year. <br />The Board instructed 1r. Qualls to hove the Indiana & I::ichigen Electric Company make <br />the installation at once. <br />in the matter of petition of 49 residents -in the vicinity of 31st and Streets, <br />the Board favorably considered this end instructed I:r. wells to have the Indiana <br />P:"ichiga.n ,Electric Company install a 1000 lun.en light at this point. <br />Fire insurance policy in the Insurance Company of America., covering the Cemetery <br />Building, in the amount of N34.00 for a period of three Nears from Cctober 6th, tes <br />approved by the Board. <br />Excavation. bond in the amount of �1,000.00, in favor of the Singer 11nufecturing <br />Company, in the National Casualty Company, �Tas approved and ordered placed on file. <br />I.;r. igeer submitted his report of ,,'.P.A. activities on. projects that come under <br />the supervision of the Street Lepartri:ent for the months of April, I.ey, June, July and <br />�� ugust.
