All members were present.. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting vrere read and approved. <br />Claims in the amount of �357.01, from the following suppliers, were approved <br />and ordered paid, also Rayroll in the various departments for the last half of <br />September amounting to 43,692.37 was approved and ordered paid. <br />No. Indiana Public Service Co. 2.63 South Bend Lions Club _ 2�2.50 <br />South Bend News -Times 6.36 Office Engineers .56 <br />11irror Press, Inc. 5.67 City Water Works 6..29 <br />Lontz Bros. 333.00 <br />Mr. -Lualls reported that he had requested the Indiana lylichigen Electric :Company <br />to reduce the 4000 lumen lar,_ at Eckman and Carroll Streets to 1000 lumen and i.nstell <br />a 1000 lumen lamp at Irvington and St. Joseph Streets and that the work would be done <br />promptly. <br />A petition was received from forty-nine residents in the neighborhood of 31st <br />Street and wall Street, requesting the installation of a street light at that inter- <br />section. The matter was referred to 11r. `walls for investigation and: recommendation. <br />Yr. %uells reported a request of the Northern Indiana Railway Company for the <br />installation of a pole line on North Side Boulevard from the alley west of 36th Street <br />to Logan Street on which to carry their circuits to existing pole line on Logan street, <br />this to be installed on the north side of North Side Boulevard. The Board gave this <br />favorable consideration and instructed P;s._�06ualls to notify the Northern Indiana Rail- <br />way Company. <br />Miss Kathleen amallzried appeared before the Board regarding placing of adver- <br />tising refuse cans on the streets of South Bend. After considering the matter since <br />the last meeting, the Board decided that this request could not be granted and so <br />notified bliss Smallzried. <br />Complaint was received that bushes on the west side of Leeper Avenue rung; over <br />the sidewalk and are an obstruction and request was made that these be trinmed. The <br />matter was referred to the Street Department with instructions to cooperate with the <br />residents in trimming these hedges. <br />A release by Harvey 17eldon, employee of the Cemetery Department, was submitted to <br />the Board releasing the City from any further obligations to him by reason of an <br />accident that occurred in the City Cemetery on Duly 18, 1936 in consideration of the <br />payment of salary from above date to September 14, 1936.
