242 <br />MEETING August 24, 1936 <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, August 24, 1936, <br />at 10:30.A. 111. All members were present. <br />Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. <br />Claims in the amount of $37.32, from the following suppliers, were approved and <br />ordered paid, also payroll of the various departments for the last half of August in, <br />the amount of 2,113.86. <br />Walter T. Braunsdorf & Son $30.00 E. W. Crouse Sales Company, Inc. $1.90 <br />Railway Express Co. 1.29 Office Supply &,Equipment Co., Inc. 24,50 <br />Clemens Truck Line, Inc. 1.63 <br />'Ms. walls reported regarding the light at Howard and Hill Streets, which has <br />been out several days, that this was intended to be lit and the Indiana &. Michigan <br />Electric Company have replaced.the lamp. <br />j He also reported on street light that was removed from the 400 block on Harris <br />Street, stating this was one of the lights ordered out by the Board on April 18th on <br />his recommendation and that the work was just being done by the Indiana & Mliehigan <br />Electric Company. <br />A petition, signed by twenty three residents , requesting improvement of <br />Irvington Avenue in the 100 block at St. Joseph Street by the installation of an are <br />lamp, was received. The matter was referred to 11r. 'Qualls for investigation and <br />recommendation. <br />Mr. R. C. Sollenberger presented complaint of dumping rubbish at 34th and 36th <br />Streets at the river. The matter was discussed and the Board decided to instruct the <br />Police Department to ba ve officers investigate and see that this practice was <br />discontinued. <br />Continuation certificate of bond of Harry D. Perkins Company in the United States <br />Fidelity and Guaranty Company was approved by the Board. <br />Contractor's bond in favor of Sylvestor Queer in the Columbia Casualty Company <br />was approved by the Board. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A. M. <br />Vy J _ 1% <br />Board of Public <br />ATTEST: Clerk <br />ADDENDA: <br />The Secretary reported that during recent severe rains repairs to the tower in <br />the City Hall and the gutters of the building had been seriously damaged and in this <br />emergency it was necessary to call upon the services of a plumber at an approximate <br />expense of 50.00 and a sheet metal worker to repair gutters, etc. at an approximate <br />expense of .�125.00. <br />It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that an ordinance be introduced <br />appropriating the sum of $175.00 as an emergency matter for these repairs and the City <br />Attorney was so instructed. <br />Board of • • <br />ATTEST: Clerk <br />• <br />7 <br />0 <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />
