21-4 <br />MEETING May 4, 1936 <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held Monday, Yay 42 1936, at <br />10:00 A. R. Jordan 5.00 Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Co. .50 <br />South Bend Clean Towel Service 6.75 Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Co. 1,205.00 <br />Kaylor Holman Spring Co. 2.15 South Bend Foundry Co. 24.50 <br />Koontz -Wagner Electric Co. 2.94 Gafill Oil Co. 27.30 <br />Jack Taylor's 6.84 Gaf ill Oil Co. 1.96 <br />National Cylinder Gas Co. 9.32 Business Systems, Inc. 1.05 <br />j The Office Engineers, Inc. 11.65 <br />R'!r. walls submitted a map showing the location of all of the street lights in <br />the City and indicating those that were intended to be lighted, others that were <br />intended.to be out and others that the expense was maintained by other corporations. <br />The map was referred to the Mayor. <br />The Gafill Oil Company, in a communication, requested the privilege of placing <br />a 1000 gallon tank in the alley off Chapin Street along the Armour loading dock. The <br />matter was referred to the City Engineer for recommendation. - <br />Mr. William Longenecker, City Sexton, reported operations of the City Cemetery <br />for the month of April, showing receipts for general care for the month amounting to <br />$451.00. This report is on file in the office of the Board of Public Works. <br />Yr. V. R. Britton submitted a sketch for breeking out curb and laying driveway <br />to the property of A. C. Klinger on East Mayne Street, which was submitted to the <br />Board and approved. <br />Contractors bonds in favor of V. R. Britton in the United States Fidelity and <br />Guaranty Company and M'cVittie E. Kerr in the Maryland Casualty Company were approved <br />and placed on file. <br />The Standard Oil Company submitted blue prints of changes desired at their <br />filling station at 23rd Street and 17ishewaka Avenue, showing; they wish to create <br />greater openings in the entrance to their property than at present laid out. After <br />considering the matter and upon recommendation of 1!r.
