DuBail <br />.50 <br />Mr. Qualls reported on <br />the petition <br />of twenty four residents in the"vicinityof <br />Indienv Avenue and Swygert Street for a street <br />light at that intersection,'stating- <br />that <br />there is need for this street light, but <br />that present appropriation for this work <br />is <br />sufficient to permit of <br />this installation at this time. The petition was ordered <br />�not <br />placed on file. <br />C <br />111r. William Longenecker, City Sexton, reported the work done at the City Cemetery <br />during, the month of February, showing collect -ions rmde for perpetual care to the credit <br />of maintenance fund of $96.00 in favor of Harold Elliott, also for general care of lots <br />amounting to $362.00. The report is placed on file in the office of the Board of Public <br />Works. <br />Mr. -Anderson reported his investigation of the claim. of J. W. Slott for demages <br />to his car while driving in an alley north from Howard Street between Lawrence and <br />Stanfield Streets. Mr. Anderson stated that if the driver had been cereful this <br />accident would not have happened and recommended that the claim be not allowed. The <br />Board sustained him. <br />A communication from the Grand Trunk Railway requesting privilege of discontinuing <br />crossing lights now maintained by them at Columbia Street, Lincoln Way East, Notre Dome <br />Avenue, Francis Street, Eddy Street and Greenlawn crossings. After thoroughly consider- <br />ing this matter, the Board decided the City could not comply and would expect the Grand <br />Trunk to continue to maintain their lights. <br />Excavation bond in favor of Charles R. Doran and John F. 11itchell in the Employer's <br />Liability Assurance Corporation in the sum of $1,000.00 was approved, also continuation <br />certificate of excavation bond in favor of William Collmer. <br />The meeting adjourned 'at 10:30 A.
