All memhers were present. <br />The minutes of previous meeting were read end approved. <br />Claims in the amount of 135.62 from the following° supplies were approved, also pay <br />-roll of the ve rious depa rtne nts for the last half of Febr,.z l=fir amounting- to 5417.91. <br />Northern Iridiena Gas & Electric Company 1.00 <br />Railway Express Agency 1.74 <br />Business Systems 117.88 <br />'Wm. Longenecker .for J. T?: Hunter 15.00 <br />M-r. J. tit. Slott presented a claim for dama&.e to his autor_iobile while travelinc <br />through an alley between Lawrence and Stanfield Sts. frog. Foward St.- I\fiorth where a Crad- <br />ing project was in process under W.P.A. labor c]..aiining proper warning was not displayed. <br />The matter was referred to I!r. Anderson for investigation and report at next meeting. <br />Yr. L. L. Thompson, Agent of the Grand Trunk IVIEstern Railroad presented a written <br />request for discontinuance of street lights now maintained by the Railroad at Columbia <br />Lincoln . ay East, Eddy, Notre Dame, Greenlawn and. Frances Sts. No action was taken peed <br />ing further invest; gat -ion and T_r. Thon.pson was advised the matter would be furtr.er con- <br />sidered at the next meeting. <br />A petition signed. by 24 residents in the vicinity of Indiana Avenue and Swypert <br />Street presented a petition for enoverhead stop light at that ante -°section. The matter <br />was referred to Yr. walls for investigation and report. <br />A communication from the Industrial Board Division of the Department of Commerce <br />was received notifying the City that ;#1 Boiler at the Central Fire. Station be replaced <br />at once due to age and general bad condition. The secretary was instructed to ma.'�e re- <br />pl-ir the t the boiler will be replaced as soon as an eppropriation to cover the cost has <br />been granted. <br />Mr. Qualls investigated the matter of rate in current consumption ` and. informed the <br />Board that the City is now and has been enjoying a rate of 3¢ to vft�ich other municipal <br />units have been reduced recently. <br />Lrr. Qualls presented a request from the Indiena. &. TCichigen Electric Company to <br />remove a guy strand now anchored on the south side of Yisl ewa.lra Avenue at Louisa Street <br />aatd anchor it on the North. Side of "ishatfia'-a Avenue. This wou]_r brine it along the side <br />of the house owned by T'Ir. J. D. T:'artin and in view of Yr. T artin's objection the request <br />was not grented by motion of 17'r.
