MEETING DECEMBER 30 �19 35 <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, December 30, 1935 <br />at 10:30 A. M. All members were present. - <br />Minutes of meeting of December_23rd were read and approved. <br />Claims in the amount of <br />$577.36, from <br />the following suppliers, were <br />approved and <br />ordered paid. <br />Northern Ind. Public Service <br />Co. $1.00 <br />Willett Manufacturing Co. <br />$35.00 <br />Stanley A. Clark, M. D. <br />6.00 <br />Gaf'ill Oil Company <br />19.78 <br />Gill-Vorn Chevrolet, Inc. <br />514.60 <br />Gafill Oil Company <br />.98 <br />Mr. James Pierce, who holds contract for garbage removal, was present and stated <br />that the Company who now holds his surety bond is insisting upon certain security <br />being given at considerable expense to Mr. Pierce. He stated that he has a new <br />Company which does not require this but that a bond in the new Company could not be <br />issued within approximately ten days and that he would be willing to place a cash bond <br />with the City for the intervening time until the new bond could be filed. The Board <br />agreed to accept this and 11r. Pierce was instructed to have his cash bond in the hands <br />of the Controller by not later than Thursday morning, January 2nd. <br />Mr. Peter J. Marchelewicz, who operates a. filling station at 335 South St. Joseph <br />Street, appeared before the Board and requested that that part of east Division Street <br />south of the old Grand Trunk Depot and north of the Grand Trunk tracks be held open. <br />After fully discussing this matter with him, the Board felt this could not be carried <br />out because East Division Street at this point only extends to the alley east of <br />Michigan Street. The Board, however, informed him that they would consider the matter <br />further and definite action would be postponed for one week. <br />Mr. William H. Longenecker, Sexton, submitted to the Board report of activities <br />for the month of December, showing receipts of $257.00 which included perpetual care <br />of one lot of Mrs. 1"athilda Rhode. <br />Mr. Longenecker submitted.his annual report for the year 1935 which is on file <br />in the office of the Board of Public Works. <br />Continuation certificates covering excavation bonds in favor of the following were <br />approved by the Board and ordered placed on file: Rocco Simeri, Harry Nicodemus, <br />Jacob M.
