STREET DEPARTMENT - Mr. Weer present: <br />Mr. Weer presented his report of the work done in the Street Department during <br />the month of August, which report has been placed on file. <br />CEMETERY DEPARTMENT - Mr. Longenecker present: <br />Employment conditions in the Cemetery were discussed With Mr. Longenecker and the <br />Board con-curred in the necessary laying off of men which had been done recently. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. Qualls present: <br />The Petition of property owners in the vicinity of V.umford Court and Dayton Street, <br />which was referred to Mr. Qualls for investigation, was reported on by him and he <br />stated that the situation there really merited attention because it is extremely dark <br />in that vicinity and that a light could be installed at a cost of $19.80 per year. The <br />Board referred this Petition back to Mr. Qualls for further investigation to ascertain <br />if a light in some other district not so seriously needed may be darkened and the one <br />at Mumford Court lighted, thereby causing no additional expense to the City. Mr. Qualls <br />is to report at the next meeting. <br />Continuation certificate in the Employers Liability Assurance Company in favor of <br />Goheen Plumbing & Heating Company of Mishawaka was approved by the Board. <br />Additional endorsement of insurance covering the Engineering Department 1932 Ford <br />Pick-up Truck, Motor No. B-5079760, was approved for public liability An the Indiana <br />Insurance Company for an additional premium of $16695 and for fire, tornado and theft <br />in the Wolverine Insurance Company for an additional premium of 840. These endorsements <br />have been attachedtotheir respective policies covering the Street Department equipment <br />Mrs. Zook of 402 Lincoln Way West at.William Street requested the Board to remove <br />two trees in the parkway in front of her home.
