STREET DEPARTMENT - Mr. Weer present: Mr. Weer presented his report of the work done in the Street Department during the month of August, which report has been placed on file. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT - Mr. Longenecker present: Employment conditions in the Cemetery were discussed With Mr. Longenecker and the Board con-curred in the necessary laying off of men which had been done recently. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. Qualls present: The Petition of property owners in the vicinity of V.umford Court and Dayton Street, which was referred to Mr. Qualls for investigation, was reported on by him and he stated that the situation there really merited attention because it is extremely dark in that vicinity and that a light could be installed at a cost of $19.80 per year. The Board referred this Petition back to Mr. Qualls for further investigation to ascertain if a light in some other district not so seriously needed may be darkened and the one at Mumford Court lighted, thereby causing no additional expense to the City. Mr. Qualls is to report at the next meeting. Continuation certificate in the Employers Liability Assurance Company in favor of Goheen Plumbing & Heating Company of Mishawaka was approved by the Board. Additional endorsement of insurance covering the Engineering Department 1932 Ford Pick-up Truck, Motor No. B-5079760, was approved for public liability An the Indiana Insurance Company for an additional premium of $16695 and for fire, tornado and theft in the Wolverine Insurance Company for an additional premium of 840. These endorsements have been attachedtotheir respective policies covering the Street Department equipment Mrs. Zook of 402 Lincoln Way West at.William Street requested the Board to remove two trees in the parkway in front of her home.
