A request for streetlight at Dayton Street and Mumford Court was received from <br />Mr. Charles J. Mumford. Due to the fact that there are no funds for this purpose, the <br />Board gave instructions to write Mr. Mumford accordingly. <br />A request was received from William Huffine of 1850 East Calvert Street for street <br />light to be installed, and because of lack of funds was not granted and Mr. Huffine <br />notified to that effect. <br />A communication to the Mayor from Florence Schreyer, asking that East Bartlett <br />Street be asphalted, was referred to the Board of Public Works. After consideration, <br />it was decided there were no funds for this purpose and the Board instructed to write <br />Miss Schreyer accordingly. <br />A Petition from Frank Chidister of 706 Harrison Avenue, asking that alley be <br />improved between Cottage Grove and Cushing East and West and Lindsey and VanBuren <br />North and South, was referred to the Street Commissioner, Mr. Veer, so that this work <br />could be done under the W. P. A. program. <br />A Petition was received, signed by nineteen residents of Prairie Avenue, requesting <br />installation of light and post at intersection of Nash or Warren Street. Because of <br />lack of funds, this petition was not granted. <br />A Petition was read from four residents of Cedar Street and North Hill Street <br />asking for the construction of concrete pavement on alley between Cedar Street and <br />Notre Dame Avenue from Hill Street to St. Louis Blvd. Due to lack of funds for this <br />purpose, petition was not granted. <br />The meeting adjourned at 12:30 P.
