156 <br />MEETING AUGUST 5, 1935 <br />Regular meeting of the Board of .Public Works was held on Monday, August 5, 1935 <br />at 11:30 A. M. All members were present. <br />Claims in the amount of $1,540.23, from the following suppliers, were approved <br />and ordered paid; <br />Indiana & Mich. Electric Co. $109.78 <br />Indiana & Mich. Electric Co. 1.00 <br />Indiana Lumber & Mfg. Co. 2.25 <br />Walter J. Braunsdorf & Son 3425 <br />Dan R. Lontz Coal Co. 289.52 <br />South Bend Clean Towel Service 8.75 <br />Morningside Pharmacy 1 1.00 <br />George H. Poulsen $522.94 <br />The Crown Rock Company 576.91 <br />Railway Express Agency 1.40 <br />G. E. Meyer & Son, Inc* 23.43 <br />Mr. Ira Howard of the American Legion requested the privilege of burying a <br />colored man who had been buried on the County Farm, transferring him to the Veteran's <br />.1ot,in the City Cemetery.. Permission was given to Mr. Longenecker to make this <br />arrangement. <br />A communication from the Bendix Products Corporation was read requesting that a <br />streetlight be placed at the end of the pavement of Westmore Street in the vicinity <br />of the soft ball. field recently laid out by the Bendix Corporation. After consider- <br />ation, it was decided there were no funds for this purpose and the Secretary was <br />instructed to write the Bendix Corporation accordingly. <br />A communication <br />ommunication from A. R. Abrams to the Mayor was read to the Board, again <br />calling attention to desire of the residents in the neighborhood of East Angella <br />Boulevard and Foster Streets for a street light at that point.
