FOUNDATION
803 LINCOLNWAV WEST SOUTH BEND, IN 46616
PiTnNr (574)289 -1066 Fax {574)289 -4550
February 17, 2010
To Whom It May Concern:
South Bend heritage Foundation (SBHF), on behalf of Historic Dunbar Corner
Partnership, is requesting the vacation of the following alley:
The first North/South alley East of LaPorte Avenue along Colfax Avenue to the first
East /West alley for a distance of 198 feet, more or less and a width of 8 feet. Being part
of Dunbar's Sub. Of Bank Outlots 31 & 32 to the City of South fiend, St. Joseph County,
Indiana
SBHF owns and operates Historic Dunbar Corners Apartments, located to the immediate
west of the alley. Upon completion of a recent property survey it was determined that the
house located at 902 Colfax (part of Dunbar Corners Apts.) is 7" over the property line -
into the alley. In addition, this alley is no longer used — it is very narrow alley, oily 8'
wide, so it is difficult for a vehicle to fit through and the area is grown over by grass as
no vehicle (neighbor or City related) travels down the alleyway.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Liz Maradik at 289 -1066 x 221.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Phil Byrd
Executive Director
NeighborWoo-6
CHARTERED MEM &ER
n C.1 "t p e
