I 12Meeting May 6,1935. Regular meeting of the Board of Public,Works was held Monday May 6,1935. a at 11,30 A.M,All members were present. The minutes of meeting of April 29th were read and approved. Claims in the aitount of 3123.61 were approved. The matter of obstructing E,*Western Ave by the tenant of the Old Grand Trunk Ry Co was brought up and referred to the building Kept. Mr Geo Farage rdpresenting the Reco_Store asked for permission to remodle their store front,end pr`etented a,plan.lt was moved seconded and carried that the matter be referred to the building Dept. Cemetery Dept Mr Longenecker present. Mr Longenecker.stated that he had expected to secure FE.R.A.e-xtra help. in: the cemetary between now and Deeoration'Day but was told by,F.E.R.A..officiale that this cannot be done`u4til May 15,In the meantime -it was arranged that Mr Weer give.him some help from the —street Dept. Electrical Dept Mr Qualls present, letter from August J.Myers was read requesting a street light at the corner cif Obrien and Keller Sts.Mr Qualls haveing investigated the matter stated there was no question of the- need of light. -at this corner.Upon his recommendation it was.moved seconded end carried that a 2500-lumen lamp mast arm construction overhead service be installed at the new contract rate of 31,20 per year.Mr Quall reported to the Board that several citizens living on Sherdan St in. the second block.South of Western Ave want more light.After investigating the matter he found that by taking out three lights of 1000 lumen in the first block South of Western Ave at a saving o.f:81.00,a 2500 lumen lamp could be installed at Ford and Sheridan St at a cost of 31.20 leaving a credit of 49.80 which would more than pay for the.lamp at Obrien & Keller Sts.It was moved seconded and carried that Mr Qualls suggestions be 'followed and he was instructed to confer with the Electric Co and make necessary change in the' contract. Street Dept.Mr Weer present. Mr Neer presented his report for work done during the month of April which was ordered placed on file. Bond of contractor in favor of Fred'J,Sack -in. the Fidelity & Deposit Cod in the amount of 1000.00 was approved and placed on file A The meeting ajourned at 12*160P.M. ATTEST Clerk Board of Public, Works Special Meeting Special meeting -of the Board was called at.3 P.M.May.6,being postponed hearing on condemnation Resolution No 2481. Also resolution 2482.
