St business mens assn for,,relighting two. <br />j lamps on So Chapin Stsouth of the viaduct upon recommendiation of Mr Qualls,The board <br />i decided to make no changes at the present time and instructed the 'Secretary to -.:so <br />notify Mr Koczan, <br />i <br />The contract with the Indiana Michigan Elee Co,was discussed and it was moved, <br />seconed and carried that Mr Anderson and Mr Qualls, make a trip to Gary and Ft Wayne <br />and invite some of the Councilman to go also to investigate lighting systems in -those <br />cities. <br />The Secretary was instructed.to place Fire insurance whigeexpires on April 16th on <br />teh--Fire Alarm and Signal Stations in the amount .of $R-e�.dividing it emoung five <br />agents and to cover Tornado insurance in addition,he same as insurance on city hall <br />and Fire Stationd. <br />Mr Qualls reported a condition on Madison St East of Palmer Blvd and recommended the <br />installation of'a 2500 lumen lamp mast arm construction from overhead service at the <br />intersection of Madison and Jacob Streets at a cost of $31:20.Per year.After a <br />discussion of the matter the Board approved the installation. <br />Mr D.A.Boswell distributor of the Terraplane automoblies requested a permit to <br />display, a Terraplane on the sidewalk on East Colfax at Michigan St frome April 8th <br />to 20thIandto distribute tickets without charge.Permission was granted and the <br />Secretary was instructed to issue the permit. <br />A commuciation from Milton A.Johnson was read requesting a streetvlight at the <br />intersection of North Scoot St and the alley between Colfax and LaSalle Sts,After a <br />full discussion with Mr Qualls the request was not granted,then being no provision <br />made in the budget for such installation. <br />Claims in the -amount of 2839:45.Were.approved also pay roll for first half of April <br />4016:51. <br />The Mayor presented a commummation from the Dept of Health advising insurance on is <br />three automoblies operated by this department expired on April 16th and that there <br />was no appropriation¢in that department for renewal.The Secretary reported that this <br />could be applied on the appropriation for insurance. <br />Mr Fred Corporan appeared before the board to get its decision reference to the forms <br />offered at last meeting.He was informed the city would be unable to use them if a concr <br />-ete mixer could not be secured.Mr 'Weer is still investigating this angle. <br />I' Mr Qualls -reported that it was the desire of the adminstration to install'amplifiers <br />I) in the public parks when band concerts are held and he was instructed t6 investigate <br />I� securing such equipment in Chicago,Which had been used at the worlds Fair and repo'rt <br />�� later. <br />The Meeting adjourned at 11;45.A.M. <br />Attest--------- -- ---Clerk <br />Board of rublitt Works, <br />
