Finkle, was read s nd ordered <br />placed on file <br />June 15th . , <br />Bo€ord of Public Works, <br />4 ty o f out h Ben d. , Ind is n a. <br />Gent leme n: <br />The 1934 budget provided for the expenditure in the Street Department of all ironies <br />estimated to be received from automobile license fees a nd ga soline tax. The ' City <br />Controller's estimate was based on the amounts received during the ye^r 1933 totaling <br />01119660.591 however actual experience has disclosed that thd) total revenue to be <br />expected from this source during 1934 probably will not exceed 95,000.00. <br />In view of the foregoing 1- hereby issue executive order no. One pursuant to Chapter <br />60 of the Acts of 11933�- reducing tre budget -of the Street enartment-Streets-Alleys <br />and Bridges, from to to 95,000.00, <br />The City Controller will irimediately make such changes in his e cpropriation a5 to <br />provide for the reduction in the expeAdttures of this department to fit the new <br />budget appropriation as established by this executive order and the Board of Public <br />Works will rearrange the budget in the Street Department to conform to the bnlanee <br />rem. ining unexpended. <br />The City Controller will furnish the Board of Public Works with a statement shoving <br />the unexpended balance after making the necessary changes to conform to this executive <br />order. <br />Very truly yours, <br />W . Said #ritten affidavit giving details of the accident we ordered referred <br />to I. S. Romig, City Attorney. <br />The Board improved the bontracfors Bond of Michael ftaeszewski in the <br />stem. of $1,000.00 signed by Martin Kamiewski and John B. Nowinski, resident freeholders. <br />The Board approved pay zoll cleims for vericus departments in the sum. of <br />7,980.52 end hereby orders City Controller to pay same. <br />The Board rpproved clsimx for various departments in -the sum. of 062.97 and <br />hereby orders City Controller to pQy same as soon ns possible. <br />Oity Engineer. S. I,_oon' <br />presented the Bridge Plans for the track elevation <br />and gr^de separation at Western -"venue and Walnut Street, as approved by the State- <br />Bighway Commission: Upon -Mr. YAoore's recommendation, the Bo€srd approved said Bridge <br />plans as presented. <br />City -engineer, S. Moore, filed the specifications for the collection end <br />disposal df GGorbaEp and for the disposal only of Garbage. The Board adopted said <br />specifications and hereby orders the Secretary of the Board to proceed -with the legal <br />ad.vertisenent for proposals on same. The Board orders that on the9th. , day of July, <br />1934, bids will be received f ar the collection and :disposal -of g<•rba.ge and for the <br />disposal only of garbage in the City of South Bend, Indians-. Publications for said <br />uly,,d proposals stall be published on the ?_8th . , day of June and on the 5th. , day of <br />July, 1934, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune. <br />The Boe rd adopted specifications for the street Lighting `ontre ct and hereby <br />orders that on the 10th., day of July, 1934, the Board will receive, open and read sealed <br />proposals for the said general contract for street lighting.
