30 Monday, lay` 1, 1934
Board net in re ler
 session
si.on at 3 P. V,. All members present. City Engineer
William Moore and Street Commis si oner, A. M. Long, were also present. Minutes
of meeting i held onday, April 30th., 1934, read and approved.
The nosrd approved the following recormendation of Wiliam F. 4ualls for the
installation of a. street light at the corner of Mishawaka Avenue and 30th., Street:
May 7 , 1934
To the honorable Board of Public Forks,
Gen tl em en
The ordinary street light ' is a direct benefit to only a few but a light
thet benefits a church benefits many. It is this thought, together with the location
vn. arroundings of the River Park Church of Christ, that prompts me to recommend that
thy;° attached petition be grented i f cuff icient fund s can be provided.
This ehruch is located on 30th., Street directly behind the theatre building
on the corner of Mishawake Avenge and 30th. , Street. Consequently no light from the
Mishawaka Avenue lamps reaches this place. Between the theatre and the church is an
alley which is used extensively at night by patrons of a Night Club which is just
across the alley from the church. Because of the darkness persons going to and from the
chruch are endangered by the constant flow of automobil traffic in this alley and
the conduct of persons in cars parked in the rear of the Night Club has become a nuis-
anee.
A street light located in front of this church :gill have a salubrious effect
on the situation and will greatly be appreciated by the good people who attend the churc
gatherings. i recommend that a 1000 lumen lamp, octagonal top, iron post, be so located
and installed, at a cost of $29.70 per year.
Respectfully submitted,
tilliar, 1". Quells, Supt. ,
le.ctrical Department.
City Engineer, Wi lliem S. Moore, submitted the following schedules for
redistributions of assessments which were approved by the Board:
Roll No. 1972
Reso. No. 1681
Dup.
