Deploying this module will allow the utility to take payments from its <br />customer and for its customer to request service from his/her utility. <br />Add -on Level Modules <br />The add -on level modules are completely optional but add extra functionality to any of the application level <br />components. <br />BizConnect <br />BizConnect is the third application level module in the CustomerConnect suite, its features and functionality <br />are targeted towards the commercial and industrial users within the network. Providing richer analytics into <br />the C&I environment, ultimately allowing these users to manage their utility usages in a more precise manner. <br />Reports include Interval Line Plots, Variance Analyses, Load Duration Curves and Statistical Summaries <br />amongst many others. <br />eDOCSs: Document Management System <br />NorthStar offers a Content Management solution called eDOCs. eDOCs for NorthStar gives the City the ability <br />to electronically store and retrieve files (documents, pictures, spreadsheets and images) within NorthStar <br />and link them to accounts, premises and/or customers. This opens up a whole new area of convenience for <br />the storage, management, and retrieval of customer related information. eDOCs allows for any file type to <br />be stored and associated with a customer. eDOCs for NorthStar also centralizes storage and management of <br />files as they are uploaded onto a central server. <br />Were are just a few examples of how the City could use eDOCs for NorthStar to enhance or improve the <br />organization's use of information: <br />• Attach incoming letters, facsimiles and/or a -mails directly to the customer account. <br />• Store related files, such as spreadsheets or documents, with the customer account. <br />+ Scan credit references and attach them to the customer account. <br />• Store and retrieve pictures, such as driver's licenses. <br />• Store images, such as schematics, floor layouts, meter locations, with the customer; account or premise. <br />• Store and retrieve pictures of meter readings or damaged meters with the customer account. <br />mCARE: Mobile Service Orders <br />mCARE is a NorthStar CIS add -on application designed to automate and streamline the service order process <br />by providing field service personnel with a tool seamlessly linking them to the organization's customer <br />information and billing system. <br />Through an easy to use web -based dispatch application, service orders, generated by customer service <br />representatives or account managers, form a task list to be assigned to available field personnel. Service <br />orders are assigned complete with electronic forms, surveys, or questionnaires specific to the service order <br />nature. Field personnel 'pick up' their orders right from their mobile device. Upon completion of the work, <br />field personnel record the results on their mobile device and upload the information back to the NorthStar <br />CIS. In a wireless environment, further efficiencies are achieved through real-time data transmission between <br />the office and the field personnel. <br />The mCARE process reduces time consuming paperwork and ensures data integrity through the elimination <br />of re -keying. With the addition of a real-time wireless network, response times increase, and downtime is <br />reduced through continuous data communication.
