February 18, 2018 <br /> Dear St. Joseph County Area Plan Commission, <br /> I am writing to express my concern over the Women's Care Centers INC recent purchase of a <br /> residence directly adjacent to the Whole Woman's Health OBGYN clinic on Lincoln Way West. <br /> The reason for this purchase is clear: to harass patients seeking health care from Whole <br /> Woman's Health OBGYN clinic. Women in our community need and deserve comprehensive <br /> reproductive health care, but harassment by anti-abortion extremists would interfere with their <br /> ability to obtain safe and confidential health care. Anti-abortion extremists have a clear record of <br /> shaming and stigmatizing women who seek comprehensive reproductive health care, but you can <br /> prevent these extremists from their threats, taunts, and violence. You can reject Women's Care <br /> Centers INC request to have their single family residential property re-zoned as a commercial <br /> property. By rejecting their re-zoning request, you would be taking affirmative action to not only <br /> protect the clients of Whole Woman's Health, but the entire neighborhood. If Women's Care <br /> Centers INC is allowed to use that residential property as commercial property, you can expect <br /> an increase in phone calls to the police, less social order, and difficulty attracting new businesses <br /> in that corridor. <br /> Please protect women and the neighborhood in that area by rejecting Women's Care Centers INC <br /> request to rezone their property for commercial use. <br /> With much gratitude- <br /> Gail M.
