City Engineer, William S. Moore, present. On account of the larf <br />number of persons in attendance, the meeting was held in the Council Chambers. <br />111inutes of meeting::. held Monday, January 8th. , 1934, read and approved. <br />This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the following Va.catioi <br />i Resolution No . 247 7 <br />Vacation of Arnold Street at New York Central Railroad (See files for copy <br />of Resolution) <br />In the above named vacation resolution, remonstrators appeared. Yr. John <br />I Buczkowski, representing the Polish Civic Organization, was present, remonstrating <br />against said vacation. Yr. Frank Coughlin, attorney, representing the Western Improve- <br />ment organization, was also present, remonstrating against said closing. <br />After much discussion, the Board decided to continue hearing on said vaca- <br />tion resolution No.2477 until January 29th., 1934, at 3 P. M. <br />This being the da to set, continued he^ring was had on the foTlowing Vacatio: <br />Resolution No.2478: <br />is Vacation of -Cherry Street - that part lying between the northerly line and <br />the southerly line of the main line of the New York Central Railroad right-of-way. (See <br />j files for copy of vacation resolution.) <br />In the above named vacation resolution 17o.2478, the Board decided to contin <br />li hearing until January 29 th . , 1934, a t 3 P. Y. <br />ii <br />The .Board approved the Contractor's bond written in favor of Sam Coffman <br />signed by the Hartford Accident and indemnity Co. <br />The Board approved the following renewal certificates for Plumbers Exca- <br />vation Bonds: <br />Excavation bond in favor of Thomas 14acGr8th in the sum of $1,000.00 signed <br />by Employers Liability Assurance Corporation of London, England. <br />Excavation Bond in favmf of Rocco Simeri in the sum of $1,000.00 signed <br />by Mpryland Casualty Uompany. <br />Excavation bond in favor of %1m. Turnoek Jr., in the sum of P 1,000.00 <br />signed by New York Casualty Company. <br />Excavation bond in favor of Edward L. Zimmerman in the sum of $1,000.00 <br />signed by Ietropolitan Casualty Insurance Company of New York. <br />The Board approved pay roll claims for the Street Department and for the <br />Cemetery Department in the sum of $5 ,178.16 and hereby orders City Controller to pay <br />same. <br />The Eo^rd approved claims for various departments in the sum of 9,106.57 <br />including the December 1933, street lighting bill of 9,073.82. <br />Upon the recommendation of City Engineer, William S.
