Tv,-onday, October 9th. , 1933 <br />Board met in regular session at 3 P. M. Mr. Dick Johnson and Mr. Ralph IT, Kuss <br />present. . Minutes of meeting held Monday, October 2nd. , 1933, read and approved* <br />Upon the recom�mednation of William S. Moore, City Engineer, the Board approved <br />the drive on Lafayette Boulevard between North Shore Drive and the first alley north. <br />of North. of North Shore Drive on the property owned by Yx . P'"ile s O'Brien. <br />Upon the re comm�endati on of William. S. Moore city En ine er the Board y , approved <br />• certain changes for the drive ways at Filling Station located at the corner of <br />Western Avenue and Lafayette Blvd. <br />The board approved the Contractors Bond. in the sum ofp1,000.00 written in favor <br />! of U. C. Parrott and signed by Continental C2 sual ty Company. <br />The hoard approved the Contractors Bond in the sum of $1,000.00 written in favor <br />of H. r . Glaser Jr., and signed by United States Fidelity 8c Cuaranty Co. <br />The Board, approved the Contractors Bond in the sum of 1,000.00 written in favor <br />it of Charles W. Aulm, and signed by Fidelity & Deposit Company of Maryland. <br />• l The Board instructed the Clerk of the Board to advise the telephone operators <br />that they could each t ak e one week vacation with pay. <br />• <br />0 <br />_. <br />• <br />0 <br />A petition for sidewalk on the north side of Vine Street between 20th. Street <br />and 21st. , Street, was filed with the Board. A remonstrance against said. improvement <br />was also filed. The Board decides to file said petition at this time as the remon- <br />strance against same is signed by the property owners who. would be assessed for said <br />improvement and who claim that the improvement at this particular t.ime would work <br />I <br />a great hardship on them. <br />The Board instructed the Clerk of the Board to notify the local coal dealers <br />that on Monday, October 16th., this Board will receive bids for 40 tons of coal <br />for the street department, same to be delivered. to the street department yards <br />at 320 Sycamore Street. <br />Pay roll claims for various departments in the sum of 1'f�4,327.18 were signed and <br />approved by the Board. <br />Claims for various departments in the sum of II-8,244.55, including the Street <br />Lighting bill for the month of September, I963, were signed and approved by the <br />Board . <br />the Board instructed the Clerk to advise George D'Armond, janitor of the City <br />Eall, that his services as janitor would terminate on h-onday, October l6th, 1933. <br />I-ee ti ng adjourned at 4 P.
