<br />I Board met in regular session at 3 P. M. Mr. Dick._ Johnson and fir. halph H. Kuss
<br />oresent. Mr. William S. Moore, City Engineer, also present. �
<br />Minutes of meeting held Monday, September 18th . , 1933, read and approved.
<br />'i Mr. Glen Oakley, Councilman, appeared before the Board requesting that some �
<br />action be taken with the manufacturer, -.of the streets signs, which have faded, to such
<br />an ext4bnt that the names are indiscernible. The Board instructed the Clerk to write
<br />j to the Industries department of the Indiana State Prison, from whom these street signs'
<br />were purchased ,and ask for some re -adjustment from them.

<br />petition and accompanying letter having been filed and ity �
<br />attorney, Mr. I. S. Romig, having approved same, the Board approved the redistribution
<br />of assessments as outlined on the schedule:

<br />We are herewith enclosing a petition, signed by all the persons interested, asking ''I •
<br />for a reassessment of lots numbered 156, 1579 158, 159 160 and 161 and 162 in Ewing
<br />Park Addition to the city of South -bend, the original assessment under roll No.1322, !I
<br />improvement resolution No.904, for the improvement by grading and constructing cement Ij
<br />eid'ewalk. At the time of that improvement in 1923 the land in question was divided
<br />and platted in acre tracts and lot No.24 was divided into seven lots as above described.;
<br />There are three assessments of $56.70 still unpaid and the props rty owners are asking
<br />that these assessments be prorated equally upon their seven lots.

<br />It will be necessary to publish any notice as all the parties are before and have waivedj.
<br />any further notice. It will be appreciated if you cause the engineering department
<br />to prepare a reassessment, and when the same is done we will appreciate it if you will
<br />advise our of fic e.

<br />PETITION FOR 11AKING REASSESSMENT.
<br />The undersigned petitioners respectfully represent that in the year 1923 the
<br />Board of Public Yorks of the City of South Bend, Indiana, adopted the Improvement
<br />Resolution No.904 for the improvement of Ewing Avenue by grading and constructing cement
<br />sidewalk. That a contract was let under said resolution and sai_d improvement was made.,
<br />and that assessment roll No.1322 was spread and that Lot No.24 in 'Springbrook acres in
<br />the City of South bend, Indiana, was assessment ibr the making of said improvement.'
<br />That the following installments of said assessment again said Lot No.24 in
<br />Spr ingbrook Acres are 1 ie ns and have not been paid: !'

<br />And these petitioners represent that sometime after the year 1923, said Lot
<br />No.24 was subdivided and replatted as a part of Ewing Park Addition to the City of
<br />•
<br />South -bend, and that said Lot No.24 was replatted into lots numbered 156-, 157, 158�
<br />1591 160 , 161 and 162 in Ewing Park Addition. That said plat of Ewing P� rk Addition
<br />has been approved by the Board of Public Works and has been recorded and everything
<br />has been done in the approval of same as required by law. That the undersigned
<br />Karl Weisser, gx; , it the owner of Lot no.1571 Emil Weisser is the owner of Lot No.156,
<br />Elizabeth 0. Seebirt id the owner of Lot No.162, and Daniel D. Schurtz is the owner
<br />of the others of said described lots. That each of them waive any further notice I
<br />of this proceeding.
<br />That they respectfully pray that this Court, pursuant to statute in such cases
<br />provided, reassess the assessments ,above given, together with interest upon said seven
<br />lots, apportioning an equal amount to each of the same.
