Smith in the amount of <br />° 2,000.00 signed by the Idetropolitan Casualty Insurance Company. <br />The Board approved the Excavat ion Bond of Farve E. Malott in the amount o <br />1,000.00 signed by the Maryland. Casualty Compa.n.y, <br />The Board 2vproved the renewal certificate of the Excavation Bond of <br />James 0. Chappell, in .the amount of 01,000.00 signed by Aetna Casualty and Surety Co. <br />The_ Board approved the. recommendation of yam.. F. Qualls, for the installati <br />of a 4000 lumen light, mast arm construction, overhead service, at the intersection o <br />Dayton - d Dole Streets. <br />The Board approved the installation of a 1000 lumen lamn at t':e intersecti <br />of the alley running north and south from Wit. Joseph Street to 'Cerroll Otreet at a <br />cost of $22. 00 per year. <br />The Board approved Estimate No.2 filed by `pity Engineer <br />�r =. G. `ray, for <br />the sewer and grade improvement on Falcon street, Kenmore Street, xellington Street, <br />Illiriois Streets Westmoor Street, Crumstown Avenye, Prast Blvd.. and -6asement .in <br />accordance with the terms of tYB contract between the City and the Williston Const., <br />Company under Improvement Resolution No.2305 in the amount of 2I,802.50. <br />The, following reeommendetion was approved by the Board: <br />February II, t 3O <br />To the Mori. Board of Public Works <br />Gentle men : <br />During the years the'present traffic signal system hes been in service the <br />C ity has been p eying for the operating electric current on a metered basis which vari <br />from month to month and no two me to rs s eene d to read a 1 ike . <br />For some time we Ir-ve had converaati ons w ith the Indiana and Michigan <br />Electric Company in regard to this situation for it made it very difficult for us to <br />anticipate the oper^tion costs in planning the street lighting, budget. It was also <br />necessary for the City to provide meter housings at the various locations and there w <br />was no appropre itions to cover such expense. <br />The Indiana and Michigan Electric Company has now come to a definite con- <br />clusion as to a flat rate for the traffic signals, vhich v311 average considerabDy <br />less than they have been receiving do a metered basis. <br />The following rates are proposed: <br />For suspended_ Type Traffic Signals, $45.00 per year. <br />!I F:-;r Post Type Tra ff ie Sugnals , I5.00 per year. <br />i <br />This is a much wetter rate than I had anticipated and I recommend that the <br />rates be: approved. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Vim.
