303 <br />Tuesday, 'eptember 24th. , 1929. <br />Board met in regular session at 9 A. I,%, All members present. Vinutes of <br />meetings held September I7th. , and kept errber I8th. , 1929, read and approved. <br />The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of 71illiston Construction Company <br />for the -pavement improvement on Yeade `street from Lincoln Way t ilest to Elwood Avenue <br />under Im-orovement Resolution No.2227 in the amount of I,855.85, signed by Inland <br />Bond ing Company. <br />The Board a -)proved the Guarantee Bond off, Williston :Construction Company <br />for the vement improvement on T'ain street from airview venue to alley south of <br />'doodside treet under Improvement Resolution No.2226 in the amount of. .12,616.52 <br />signed by Inland Bonding Company. <br />The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of Northern Indiana Construction Co <br />for the local sewer improvement on-'Ibert, Edison, Gladstone, and the alley north of <br />Sample Street, all under Improvement Resolution No.2215, in the amount of 11149I.73 <br />signed by Great �merica.n Indemnity Company. <br />The folloipdng recommendation of I'm. F. Qualls, was approved by the Board: <br />"To the Hon. Board of Pub is �or ks , <br />• Gentlemen: <br />Theridoning ,of Sample "treet, through the under pass and west to the first <br />alley west of Fellows 13treet; exposi#g a residence to the dead end section of the <br />street, has created a condition that is dangerous to vehicular traffic. Steps are <br />now being taken to protect this location and �=rarn traffic of the danger by the con- <br />struction of a fence. <br />In order to furt'�er protect persons and property and expose the danger, <br />I desire to offer the following recommendations: <br />Install a 2500 lumen light street light t the northwest corner of the new <br />i. street section. This will illuminate the street and also the house that is exposed. <br />Install a 2500 lumen street light around the corner on the narrow portion <br />of the street to expose the jog in the street surface. <br />Install five small fla shing red lights on the fence posts to be erected <br />across the dead end section. <br />Install four unit type traffic signals at 'ample and Fellows Streets, one <br />on each corner. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />The abo,re recommendation for lights was approved and t'.Ze Board' ordered <br />superintendent Qualls to have these installed at the earliest possible date. <br />The Board also approved the recommendation of °dm. F. Qualls, superintendent <br />for the following lights: <br />4000 lumen light, mast arm construction, over head service at the intersectio <br />of falcon and Sample Street; at Dunham and Lake streets, and at Falcon and .Ford Streets <br />Aboev lights to be at cost of 45.00 each per year. <br />?i. '7ray, riled plans, specifications and estimate and the <br />City ngineer, <br />Board adopted said plans and specifications together with the following improvement <br />resolution: <br />Ire-orovenlent Resolution No.2303 for the construction of sidewalk on Tasher <br />Avenue from the west curb line of Miehigan Street to t,ie east curb line of Vain street. <br />(See files for copy of resolution.) <br />In the above nar ed improverier_t Resolution"o.2303, property owners waived <br />all right of objection on and in defense to any defect in said proceedings and to any <br />violation in nroce"'.ure for the construction of improvement as fixed by law. <br />City Ph-ineer, "T. G. 71ray, submitted the tabulation. -,of bids for the -pavement <br />of the alley west of Edison Street from Ford 'street to Huron street under Improvement <br />Resolution No.230I, :as follower: <br />Colpaert Realty Co. <br />concrete 29081.25 <br />kK��k*�x:t:atc�*�c�c,!:�c�cxx:�x!c�*�:ic�c�:*kk'=ki*kk•�`'%=�kKk�=kk*�kxk�*1=k*�=kKk**kx'kKkk*.kkkXF*�k�k=k�*�kk <br />Bids having been received for the pavement of the alley west of Edison Street <br />F <br />• from ord treet to Huron Street under Improvement Resolution No.230I, the Board this <br />24th., day. of September 1929, hereby, awards the contract for said improvement to <br />Eolpaert Realty Company at their low bid of 2,081.25 for concrete pavement. <br />
