RESOLUTION NO. 69-2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING THE DONATION OF ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INC. WHEREAS, on behalf of the City of South Bend (the "City"), the City of South Bend Board of Public Works (the "Board") adopted its Resolution No. 55-2015 on September 22, 2015 (the "Original Resolution") providing to the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, Inc. (the "Foundation") a donation in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) (the "Original Grant") in support of the Foundation's efforts to develop and install a wireless network in the City's downtown (the "Project"); and WHEREAS, the Foundation, in collaboration with its partners and contractors, has executed the Project and expended the Original Grant for the purposes established under the Original Resolution; and WHEREAS, in recognition of the Foundation's execution of the Project to date and in further support of the Project's delivery of free wifi connectivity within the City's downtown, the City desires to make a second donation, in the amount of Thirty- Six Thousand Four Hundred Twenty -Six Dollars ($36,426.00) (the "Funds"), to the Foundation under this Resolution; and WHEREAS, the City has previously appropriated the Funds in its Information Technology services account; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South Bend Board of Public Works as follows: 1 . The City, through the Board, hereby donates Thirty -Six Thousand Four Hundred Twenty -Six Dollars ($36,426.00) to the Foundation, which amount will be applied as a supplement to the Original Grant for the purpose of supporting the operational needs of the Project. 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its adoption by the City of South Bend Board of Public Works. ADOPTED at a meeting of the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, held on December 21, 2017, at 1308 County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601.
