Boyles, City Engineer SUBJECT: Reject Project No. 117-100 Project Name: Lafayette Building Roof DATE: December 11, 2017 On October 10, 2017, the Board of Public Works opened and read quotes for the above project. One (1) quote was received from Slatile Roofing and Sheet Metal Co., Inc. (Slatile). The quote did not meet the specifications. On October 24, 2017, Engineering recommended the rejection of the quote. From the Board minutes on that date, the following motion was made: "Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion to reconsider their previous motion to reject the quote from Slatile and that the Board delegate the City Engineer to work with Code Enforcement to get the work done under the Unsafe Building statute, Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, which carried," Upon further review with Code Enforcement, the Director deemed the Lafayette Building Roof as an emergency repair. Thus, the project has been solely handled by the City's Code Enforcement Department, I recommend that the Board of Public works reject the quote received from Slatile at the October 101h meeting.
