Klosinski, Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: <br />Agenda Request Form — Professional Services Agreement <br />Airport Annexation Area Survey (A&Z Engineering, LLC, Fort Wayne, IN) <br />DATE: December 18, 2017 <br />The Department of Community Investment and Division of Engineering request the Board of <br />Public Works approval of a Professional Services Agreement with A&Z Engineering (Fort <br />Wayne, IN) to provide topographic survey along US 20 and Pine Road as it relates to future <br />design for sanitary sewer and water services west of the South Bend Regional Airport west of <br />the US 31 Bypass Interchange. <br />Background and Purpose <br />The Department of Community Investment has been working with the Department of Public <br />Works Division of Engineering to assist with planning and scoping an extension of sanitary <br />sewer services west of the South Bend Regional Airport to provide services to a potential, future <br />development south of US 20 between Pine Road and Olive Road. <br />This planning effort requires a verification of existing facilities, topographic features, right-of-way, <br />and elevation data to provide adequate information for sanitary sewers and water main route <br />planning. The extents of the survey extend west of Poppy Road (nearest sanitary pump station) <br />and east to the US 201 US 31 Bypass Interchange (St. Joseph Valley Parkway). <br />The funding sources for this study have been appropriated from the 2017 TIF River West — <br />Airport Account (324-1050-460-31-02, $50,000) and Engineering Professional Services Account <br />(101-0608-431-31-06, $3,850). Total amount for the survey work is $53,850.00.
