<br />Board met in regular session at 7-15 P. IT. All members present.
<br />Lr. 111. G. 7ray, Cit,- Engineer, absent. Mr. R. L. Pike, assistant engineer, present.
<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolu-
<br />tion No.2057 for the pavement and sewer improvement in Lincoln Yanor Second Addition
<br />under the 55% waiver.
<br />In the above named improvement resolution; no remonstrators
<br />appeared and no written remonstrance was filed, and the Boa rd, being fully advised in
<br />the premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to
<br />be assessed for said improvements will be equal to the estimated cost of said improve-
<br />ments and that the improvements are necessary. The Board,: therefore, takes final action
<br />on said improvement resolution No.2057, and declares same in all things ratified, con-
<br />firmed and approved without modification.
<br />The Board noW orders that on the 22nd. , day of clay, 1928, this
<br />Board will receive, open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improve
<br />ments up to IO A. if., in their office in the City Mall. The Board further orders that
<br />notices of said proposals shall be published in the South Bend Dews Times and Tribune
<br />on the ITth. , day of May and on the I8th. , day of May, I9280according to law.
<br />The Board signed the contract with the Williston Construction
<br />Company for the ia.vement of Twenty-first Street from the north line of Jefferson Blvd.,
<br />to the north line of Wilson Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2056 in the amount
<br />of 10,.690.50.. The Board also approved the construction bond for same for 50 of the
<br />contract price signed by the Inland Bonding Co.
<br />The Board signed the contract with Edward Di Julio 8. Company
<br />for the construction of a sewer in Johnson Street between Vassar and Elwood Avenue under
<br />Improvement Resolution No.2032 in the amount of 3,655.50. The Board also approved the
<br />const °uction bond of same for I00 a of the contract price signed by theluaryland Casualty
<br />co.
<br />The Board signed the contract wit'a Edward Di Julio & Company for
<br />the construction of a sewer in O'Brien Street between Vassar and Elwood Avenue under
<br />Improvement Resolution lio.2034 im the amount of 3,723.40. The Board also approved the
<br />construction bond for same for 100% of the contract price signed by the Maryland Casualty
<br />Co.
<br />The Board signed the contract with Carl E. Zimmer for the
<br />construction of grade, curb and wa$k on Bale Avenue from the south curb line of Ewing
<br />Avenue to -he north curb line of Eckaman,'I Street under Improvement Resolution No.2006
<br />in the amount of 4,347.40, The Board also approved the construction bond for _ same
<br />6n the amount of 50�' of the contract price signed by Southern Sure,cy Company.
<br />The Board signed the contract with John F. Hipskind for the
<br />construction of a sewer in Adams Street between Vassar and Hu --,bolt Street underImprove
<br />ment Resolution No.2026 in the amount of 1.667.80. The Board also approved,the construct.
<br />ion bond for same for 50 of the contract price signed by Inland Bonding Co.
<br />The City Zigineer.,submitted partial estimate No.1 for the pipe
<br />sewer improvement in Kenmore Street from lord Street to Sample Street and Sample Street fro
<br />from Kenmore Street to a point 1000 feet west in accordance with the terms of the
<br />contract between the City and the Northern Indiana construction k'o,, contractors, under
<br />improvement Resolution I1o.1996. The Board signed and approved sarae in the amount of
<br />2,472.47.
<br />A petition signed by at least 551 of the lot owners affected
<br />in Northwest Addition to the City of South Bend for the pavement of all streets, except
<br />ing therefrom the border streets, was filed. Thereupon the City Engineer filed plans
<br />specifications and estimates and the Board adopted a resolution for the construction of
<br />sheet asphalt pavement on all streets in Northwest Addition to the City of South Bend
<br />under Improvement Resolution No.2061. (Insert see files for resolution.)
<br />In the above named improver. ent resolution, the Board hereby
<br />orders that on the I6th. , day of lay, 1928, this Boardwill meet in their o ffice ' in
<br />the City Hall at 7-M5 P. T-. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose
<br />property is.11alile to be assessed for said improvement. The Board further orders that
<br />notices of said hearing shall be published in the South Bend News limes and Tribune on
<br />the IOth. , day of %ay, 1928, according to law.
<br />A petition signed by at least 55% of all lot owners affected
<br />in Belleville First Unit to the City of Mouth Bend for the pavement and sewer improve
<br />mentson all streets and portions of street lying within the boundary of said Addition
<br />excepting therefrom the border streets, was filed Vtth the Board. 'thereupon, the City
<br />Engineer filed plans, specifications and estimates and the Board adopted a resolution
<br />for the pavement and sewer improvement on all streets and portions of streets in Belle
<br />villed Ist. , Unit 4ddition under Improvement Resolution ito.2062. (Insert see .files for

<br />In the above nar!ed •improverrient resolution., the Board hereby
<br />orders that on the I6th. , day of May, 1928, this Board will meet_ in their office in the
<br />City Hall at 7-15 P. Al., to hear and receive remonstrance from all persons whose .proper
<br />may be affected by said improvement resolut:i..on. The Board further orders that notices
<br />of said hearing shall be published in the South Bend mews Times and tribune on the
<br />IOth., day of flay 1928 according to law.
