Bids <br />to be taken on the 16th day of September, 1957. <br />The Agreement made and entered into the 2nd day of January, 1957 between the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />by and through its Board of Public Works and Safety, and German Township, of St. Joseph County, Indiana <br />by and through its Trustee, whereas, the City of South Bend, Indiana will supply fire protection service <br />to said Township under terms as set out in said Agreement, is approved by the Board. <br />The Building Commissioner is authorized to notify Mrs. Hattie Hawkins, 138 S. Dundee Street and Mr. Isom <br />Townsend, 143 N. Wellington Street to appear at the next regular Board meeting to show cause why the de- <br />molition of the Building Commissioner has not been complied with. Also, a letter is directed to the S. <br />and W. Fruit Market, 2025 S. Michigan Street notifying said market that a recent inspection by the Bldg. <br />Department has revealed that you are maintaining displays for sales purposes on public property outside <br />and in front of your property line, in violation of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Permission is now granted to the Shriner's ofganization to conduct a parade on the 27th day of November, <br />1957 from 4:30 P.M. till 5:30 P.M. Permission further granted subject to clearing with the Police and <br />Street Departments. <br />Permission is further granted to the Jewish National Home for Asmatic Children to conduct a tag day on <br />November 1 and 2, 1957. <br />A petition is hereby received from Mr. Carmelo Vitale, 2005 S. Michigan Street and several others petition <br />against the vacation of the alley north of Bowman Street from Michigan Street to the alley west of Michiga <br />Streeet. Taken under consideration until a later date. <br />A provisional taxi cab license is hereby granted to Pasco Fleming after due consideration by the Board. <br />The cobtract for the H�draulic Avenue and Madison Street improvements are hereby awarded to the Reed Con- <br />struction Company, 2022 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. <br />The time now being after 10:00 A.M. (DST) it was so announced and the bids for the Pavement and Sewer Im- <br />provements as advertised were opened and read aloud. Pro6fs of publication having appeared in the South <br />Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood and in the Record with an affidavit signed by Ru <br />McManon were submitted to the Board and found sufficient.
