An agreement made and entered into by and between the Board of Aviation Commissioners of St. Joseph County <br />Indiana and the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana whereas the City is willing to provide fire equipment <br />and manpower for the fighting of fires at St. Joseph County Airport under the terms and upon the conditions <br />as set forth in said Agreement is hereby approved by the Board this 24th day of June, 1957. <br />Traffic Signs were installed at the following locations as recommended by Ernie Miller, Traffic Engineer: <br />NO PARKING THIS SIDE sign on south side of 400 block East Colfax Avenue, just west of <br />is Niles Avenue, between railroad tracks and gasoline station. <br />• YIELD RIGHT OF WAY SIGN on Washington Avenue, both sides, at Frances Street. <br />STOP SIGN on East Washington Avenue, southwest corner, at Eddy Street. <br />j STOP SIGN on Chimes Boulevard, southeast corner, at Edison Road. <br />YIELD RIGHT OF WAY sign on Manchester Drive, southeast corner at Edison Road. <br />YIELD RIGHT OF WAY sign on Whitehall at Corby Street. <br />12 MINUTE PARKING AT THIS METER signs installed on first 2 meters in the 300 block <br />of N. Michigan Street, on west side of street. <br />0 <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />A letter was received from Indiana & Michigan Electric Company by Harold M. West, District Manager, with <br />reference to the installation of 2 signs, one on either side of their garage entrance, 401 E. LaSalleAvenue <br />The signs would extend 24 inches from our building over the sidewalk, and would measure 20" x 14", reading <br />"Danger - Look Out For Autos". Said Company proposes to mount these signs approximately 8 to 10 feet above <br />sidewalk level. Matter referred to Ernie Miller and Verner Lane for approval and report back at next regu- <br />lar Board meeting on July 1, 1957. <br />Chas. W. Cole & Son submitted to the Board Contract Supplement No. 1 (Change Order No. 1 ) of Eddy Street <br />Contract No. 41 under the 1956 General Street Improvement Program. Approved by the Board this 24th day of <br />June, 1957. <br />Chas. W. Contradt approved by the Board this 24th day of June <br />1957. <br />The application of Roseland Construction Company for permit to occupy 4 feet of alley along the side of <br />3410 Western Avenue from date to August 19 1957 during construction of building is approved by the Board. <br />Verner L. Lane, Building Commissioner, is hereby authorized to proceed with issuing condemnation notices <br />for buildings located on 2107 W. Rogers Street, owned by Western State Bank, and at 925 W. LaSalle Avenue, <br />owned by Mrs. Mary Kowalik. Letters sent by Building Department on June 242 1957. <br />A letter is hereby directed to the property owner of the Southwest corner of Olive and Fisher Streets,re- <br />garding a truck scale hole which was left uncovered and is a hazard to the safety of the Children in immedi <br />ate area. Owner of said property is Richard Virgel who at present lives in Florida. <br />Approval is hereby given to Sollitt Construction Company for the installation of a canopy on Business Syste <br />Inc. building located at 126 S. Main Street upon recommendation and approval of the Building Commissioner <br />based on the fact that all requirements are met as set out in the Building Code of the City Ordinance. <br />A letter is hereby directed to Mr. Bridgmen, Indianapolis, Indiana regarding the pedestriah walk on the nor <br />east side of the Colfax Avenue biidge. <br />he time now being after 10:00 A.M.
