<br />park a station wagon with a hi-fi systems inside in front for the Bendix Corporation for the purpose of sell-
<br />ing sandwiches. Request on behalf of the hi-fi system denied by the Board. !
<br />Det. Sgt. Hunt appeared before the Board requesting permission to close the 200 block West Madison Street
<br />for ground breaking ceremonies on June 2, 1957 from 9:50 to 11:00 A.iM1. (DST) on behalf of the First Metho-
<br />dist Church. Permission granted.

<br />'parade to start at Leepe-r Park on Iviichigan Street and to continue to Sample Street where it will disband.
<br />;The parade will start at approximately 2:00 P.M1. Permission granted.

<br />:The residence at the northwest corner of Kemble and Chapin Streets formerly the Dr. Toth residence is being
<br />• ;offered for sale to the highest bidder provided however that the bidder agrees to move the house from the
<br />,lot by June 17, 1957. Also, the bid must be not less than the amount of the appraised value.
<br />Chas. W. Cole & Son submitted to the Board the Contract for Engineering Services in connection with the
<br />General Street Improvement Program for the City of South Bend, Indiana. The Board hereby approves the
<br />Contract and they now proceed with signing said contract this 27th day of May, 1957.

<br />Portage Avenue from Navarre Street to Keller Street is hereby approved by the Board.
<br />• The contract for the improvement of William Street is hereby awarded to the Reed Construction Company for
<br />a total amount of $7,963.61. Contracts signed and approved this 27th day of Mlay, 1957.
