<br />Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Stoner, 2120 South Hoke Street and several others in the 1800 and 1900 blocks of East
<br />Fox Street filed with the Board a protest over the routing of the Miami -Fellow Street bus on Fox and
<br />Hoke Streets. Board now takes matter under advisement and will work out the situation with Mr. Anderson
<br />of the Bus Company. Petition placed on file.

<br />For the improvement of Pershing Street under Improvement R@solution No. 2851, 1957, adopted February 18,
<br />1957 from 149 feet west of Johnson Street to Elmer Street by constructing a local sewer. l
<br />After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised on the premises and the Clerk ofl
<br />the Board having shown proofs of publicbtion of the notices to property owners and the same having been
<br />found sufficient, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said im-
<br />provement are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that Improve-
<br />ment Resolution No. 2851, 1957, duly passed by this Board on February 18, 1957, for the above improvement,'
<br />be and the same is hereby in all things confirmed for the construction of a local sewer on Pershing Street'
<br />from 149 feet west of Johnson Street to Elmer Street and the improvement is hereby ordered to be made.

<br />IBE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the Pro-
<br />filed, drawings, Plans, General Details, Specifications and Estimates approved by this Board on the 18th
<br />dayof February, 1957 for the improvement of Pershing Street from 149 feet west of Johnson Street to Elmer
<br />Street by constructing a local sewer be and the same are hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the
<br />;;office of the Department of Public Works and Safety.
<br />March 18, 1957, at the hourof 10:00 A.M. (CST) is hereby fixed as the time and the office of the Board of
<br />Public Works and Safety in the City Hall of this City, as the place, when and where the Board of Public
<br />Works and Safety will open and consider bids for the above named improvements, provided all bids for the
<br />construction of said works shall be filed in the office of the Clerk of this Board before 10:00 A.M. (CST)
<br />of said day. Each bidder for said works shall enclose with his bid a certified check, payable to the
<br />Treasurercof this City in the sum of two and one-half (21) per cent of the amount of his bid, or a bid bon
<br />for two and one-half (21) per cent of the amount of his bid, to insure the execution of this contract, if
<br />said work is awarded to his.
<br />The Clerk of this Board is hereby ordered, to give notice by two (2) weekly publications of the time and
<br />place, when and where bids will be receivdd, opened and oonsidered for the construction of said work, Said
<br />Clerk shall state in said notices, that each'bidder shall enclose with his bid a certified check or bid bad
<br />above named amount, to insure the execution of this contract.
