The vacation would not hinder the use of a public right-of-way <br />by the neighborhood in which it is located or to which it is contiguous. Therefore, Ms. Maradik <br />made a motion recommending approval of the request for vacation. Ms. Fritzberg seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the following traffic <br />control devices were approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicapped Accessible Parking Space Sign <br />LOCATION: 2705 Frederickson Street <br />REMARKS: All criteria has been met <br />TEMPORARY RESERVED HANDICAPPED PARKING: <br />APPLICANT: Michael Hamann <br />LOCATION: Outside County City Bldg., North Side of Jefferson, East of <br />Lafayette; <br />REMARKS: All criteria has been met; December and January only <br />APPROVE CONSENT TO ANNEXATION AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS TO <br />REMONSTRATE —17390 DARDEN ROAD — WATER <br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right to <br />Remonstrate as submitted by Mr. Joseph Raymond, 17590 Darden Road, South Bend, IN 46635. <br />The Consent indicates that in consideration for permission to tap into the public water system of <br />the City, to provide water service to the above referenced property at 17390 Darden Road (Key # <br />002-2176-8432), the Raymond's waive(s) and release(s) any and all right to remonstrate against <br />or oppose any pending or future annexation of the property by the City of South Bend. <br />Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the Consent be approved. Ms. Dorau seconded the <br />motion, which carried. <br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMITS) RENEWAL <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Lauren Trapp, Division of Environmental Services, <br />submitted the following Wastewater Discharge Permit(s) and recommended approval of their <br />renewal: <br />St Joseph Energy Center, 54745 Walnut Road <br />St. Joseph Energy Center Water Treatment Facility, 54955 Walnut Road <br />There being no further discussion, upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau <br />and carried, the permits were approved. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. Maradik stated that a request to pay the following claims in the amounts indicated has been <br />received by the Board; each claim is fully supported by an invoice; the person receiving the <br />goods or services has approved the claims; and the claims have been filed with the City Fiscal <br />Officer and certified for accuracy. <br />Name <br />Amount of Claim <br />Date <br />City of South Bend <br />$1,067,580.10 <br />11/28/2017 <br />U.S. Bank National Assoc.; Requisition No. 76; Smart <br />Streets <br />$20,495.71 <br />11/22/2017 <br />Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that after review of the expenditures, the claims be <br />approved as submitted. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Mr. Murray Miller, Local Union No. 645 asked what the Ziker Sample Street Development <br />agreement was regarding. Ms. Maradik stated the owner is putting in approximately $750,000 to <br />remodel the property for an incubator space, and will partner with Redevelopment. <br />1 <br />E <br />
