N <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 28449 1956 <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT <br />After due investigation of all bids and being dully advised on the premises, the Board of Public Work <br />.and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, decides that the bid of the Reed Construction Company, Inc. <br />2021 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana for the construction of the improvement knows as the Donald and <br />:Douglas Streets Local Combined Sewer Improvement According to Improvement Resolution No. 2844, 1956s, is the <br />lowest and best bid, and that the contract to do said work be awarded to the Reed Construction Company, Inc <br />2021 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 28469 1956 <br />REFERRING BIDS TO ENGINEER <br />The bids for the improvement of South Lake Street from the North line of Jefferson Blvd. to the Sout <br />;line of Washington Street by constructing a Class "C" Pavement (types 1 to 4) received on October 15, 195 <br />in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 28469 19561, passed by this Board on August 279 1956, and con <br />,firmed by this Board on October 19 19569 are hereby referred to you for examination and tabulation and to <br />!report to this Board with recommendations. <br />R. Also, ENGINEER'S CERTIFICATE OF CCM- <br />PLETION AS FOLLOWS: We hereby certify that the contract '_;between the City of South Bend, Indiana, Owner, <br />'and the Niles Excavating Company, 228 North Swanson Circle, South Bend, Indiana Contractor, for the constru <br />of the Local Combined Sewer improvement in Huron Street from Arnold Street to Webster Street under Improve- <br />mentResolution No. 2838, 1956 has been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications for this <br />project. <br />W. Middleton <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FINAL ESTIMATE <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the <br />Final Estimate and Primary Assessment Roll submitted to the Board by the City Civil Engineer or his duly <br />authorized representative on this 15th day of October,19561 passed by the Board of Public Works and Safety <br />"on July 29 19569 and confirmed by said Board on August 69 19569 be and the same is hereby adopted, and the <br />'Clerk of this Board is hereby requested to give notice of the hearing of Special Benefits on said Improve- <br />jment, as required by Section N. 111 or 120 of an Act entitled, "An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations" <br />approved March 6, 1905. <br />R. Smith <br />NOTICE OF HEARING SPECIAL BENEFITS ON SEWER IMPROVEMENT. <br />Notice is hereby given that the following Improvment has been completed and the general character of <br />the improvement, the street, alley or public place on which it has been made, and the terminal points Cher <br />of, are as follows: Local combined sewer on Huron Street from Arnold Street to Webster Street. <br />There is on file in the Office of the City Controller of the City of South Bend, Indiana, an assess- <br />ment roll with the names of the owners and description of property subject to be assessed with the amount <br />of the prima facia assessment, and can be seen in the Office of said City Controller. <br />The Board of Public Works and Safety of said City, at the Office of the Board in said City, will on <br />the 29th day of October, 1956, at 10:00 A.M. CST receive and hear remonstrances against the amounts assess <br />against their property respectively, on said roll and will determine the question as to whether such lots <br />or tracts of land have been or will be benefited by said improvement to the amounts named on said roll, or <br />is greater or less than that named on said roll or in any sum.
