This will <br />open up more area for parking. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII.Comments by the Golf Operations Director <br /> <br />1.Mr. Nowacki presented an overview of the golf division’s plans for 2010 and an <br />explanation of the proposed golf fee structure. He asked that the Board consider this <br />request at the January meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />IX.Comments by the Zoo Director <br /> <br /> <br />1.Director DeRosa reported that the Zoo is getting ready for the winter months by getting <br />animals into winter quarters. <br /> <br />2.Our amur leopard was sent to Fort Wayne Zoo for breeding purposes. <br /> <br />3.The Fort Wayne Zoo donated a used ultrasound unit to the veterinary hospital. <br /> <br />4.He is scheduling butterfly shipments for the spring. <br /> <br />5.Sharon Smith, the Zoo Concessions manager, resigned recently. Kimberly Lane has been <br />hired to take this position. She has worked in the Zoo Concessions last summer. <br /> <br />6.A video camera has been installed in the wild dog den in order to monitor for puppies. He <br />thanked Mike Kouroubetes of the Park’s IT Department for his work in securing the <br />cameras. Indiana Security and Cyberlink donated the camera and installation. <br /> <br />7.Physicals are being done on various animals. The takin were immobilized for a hoof trim <br />recently with no problems. <br /> <br /> <br />X.Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> <br />1. Ms. O'Connor informed the Board that there were approximately 600 people in attendance <br />for the tree lighting at the Football Hall of Fame for Downtown for the Holidays. <br /> <br />2.Saturday morning 161 breakfasts were served for Breakfast with Santa. Tea with Santa <br />had 165 participants. <br /> <br />3.The Howard Park Ice Rink is open and attendance is up from last year. <br /> <br />4.The River City Basketball League is over. <br /> <br />5.Holiday camps start this week at O’Brien Center. <br /> <br />6.New Year’s Eve will be celebrated at the Howard Park Senior Center. The new year will <br />be rung in at 11 am. <br /> <br />7.The Indiana Parks and Recreation Association has awarded Director St. Clair their <br />Professional of the Year honor. He was nominated by our staff and will receive the award <br />at the January annual conference. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich commended Ms. Lewis for her outstanding job with the Botanical Society and <br />wanted her to know that the Board appreciated it.
