j A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was held at 10:30 A.M. (DST), Friday,
!June 19 1956. Those present were: Mayor Edward F. Voorde, Raymond-S. Andrysiak, Frank J. Bruggner, and
Irving J. Smith.
The purpose of the special meeting was to accept the Sewage Treatment Plant in behalf of the Cit
of South Bend, Indiana from the contractors.
The Board authorized Consoer, Townsend, & Associates to prepare the estimates for the One Hundred
Thousand Dollar ($100,000.00) payment, for which request has been made.
The legal opinion by the Bond Attorney, -.Russell Kuehl, reads that this payment is fully within
the terms of the contract, and the such payment can be made at this date, knowing that we are still reta
ing One Hundred seventeen Thousand, Eight Hundred'Thrty-Three and 38/100 which will be paid at a later
late when the small clean-up items will be taken care of.
It is also understood that we have supplemental projects that are remaining to be completed at th
ime which are not part of the general contract, and, therefore, the retainer may be paid prior to the com-
letion of the supplemental contract projects.
The Board of Public Works, of the Civil City of South Bend, at this time turns over to the Board
f Sewage Treatment Plant Commissioners, of the City of South Bend, complete jurisdiction of the funds of
he Eight Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollar ($8,500,000.00) Sewage Treatment bond issue , and also the
urisdictign of the management and operation and maintenance of the same Sewage Treatment Plant.
There being no further business to come before the Board, and upon motion duly made and seconded,
he meeting was adjourned at 10:45 A.M.
