v�0 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 28, 1955 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held in accordance with legal <br />notice of hearing on Wednesday evening September 28, 1955, at 6:30 o'clock C.S.T. <br />relative to the following Improvement Resolution No. 2816, for the impovement on <br />Fremont Street from the north line of Elwood Avenue to the south line of Keller Street, <br />by draining, grading and paving the roadway with a Class "C" pavement, Types 1 to 5 <br />:,inclusive. <br />Meeting was opened by Chairman of the Board, R. S. Andrysiak by introduction of <br />civil engineer, Lud A. Emelity, representing Chas. W. Cole: & Sons, Civil Engineers. <br />Mr. I. A. Hurwich was absent. <br />The chairman then proceeded to explain in detail Barrett Law financing procedure <br />and the procedure of petitioning for and remonstrating against public improvements, <br />following which he announced the front foot estimated cost, pointing out to the <br />assembled home -owners that this estimate represents maximum cost and that competitive <br />.bidding will, in all probability,lower the figure quoted. <br />The meeting was then opened for informal discussion and examination of blueprints. <br />There being no other matters for consideration at this time, the meeting adjourned. <br />OCTOBER 3, 1955 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held Monday, October 3, 1955s <br />at 10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting and <br />j'also special meeting were read and approved. There being no <br />ordinance specifically prohibiting their proposed method for the advertising of the <br />dinner, the City Attorney so advised Mrs. Pond, and stated that the organization may <br />proceed with their plans accordingly. <br />A representative of Ben Medow, Inc., then appeared before the Board requesting <br />permission for the use of search lights at the curb in front of their place of business, <br />evenings only; Thursday; Friday, and Saturday, October 6, 7, and 8th respectively.
