37 <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: <br />Traffic Engineer E. H. Miller, being present, brought .to the Board's attention, the <br />fact tliat Corby Street is a boulevard from Niles Avenue to St. -Louis -Blvd.,, and asking <br />the Board's decision in the matter of posting boulevard signs accordingly. -The Board, <br />unanimously favored the posting of boulevard signs, but stipulated that a consultation <br />in the matter be held with Street Commissioner H..M. Tomlinson, before proceeding <br />with the posting of the signs. was next considered <br />The Traffic Engineer's neednfor fifty-one (51) 24" x 24" Red Scotchlite Stop Signs <br />at a total cost of $349.35. The Board authorized the purchase and directed the Clerk <br />to proceed accordingly. 4 e Beapd ::e*#- 6"Oidepe;r <br />°TbLe Traffic Engineer's need for four (4) 2-way 3-section traffic signal heads and <br />nine (9) 1-way"2-section traffic signal heads was next considered and approved. The <br />Clerk was directed to proceed with the purchase of the required equipment. <br />The Board then approved the installation of STOP signs at the following locations. - <br />Southwest corner of'Olive and Fisher Streets <br />Southwest corner of Poland at Olive Street <br />Both sides of Dunham at Olive Street <br />Both sides of Linden at Olive Street <br />IThe Board next took note of advice from Engineer William S. Moore, under date of <br />August 22, 1955, relative to completion of contract for the repair and re -paving of the <br />Ironwood Drive Bridge, including supplemental contract entered into under date of July <br />11, 1955 pertaining thereto. <br />Excavation Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined and approved for <br />Adams General Construction Co., and the Northern Indiana Public Service Company. <br />Contractor's Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined -and approved for <br />the following contractors: <br />Grand Trunk Western R. R. Co. <br />Muia Construction Company, Inc. <br />Northern Indiana Public Service Co. <br />S. E. Price <br />Geo. Swiatowy <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, meeting, thereupon, <br />adjourned; the time now being 11:20 A. M. <br />Attest: <br />Clerk <br />
