357 <br />• <br />U <br />• <br />n <br />U <br />iiimprovement <br />Resolution No. 2801-B, 1954, passed by the Board of Public Works and Safety <br />on January 2L;_, 1955, and -confirmed by said Board on February 21, 1955, be and the same <br />is hereby adopted, and the Clerk of this Board is hereby requested to give notice of <br />the hearing of Special Benefits on said Improvement, as required by Section N. 111 or <br />1120 of an Act entitled, "An Act Concerning hfznicipal Corporations" approved March 6,1905.; <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2812-1955' <br />'i <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />", tha.t it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />THE ALLEY BETWEEN NORTH ST. LOUIS BOULEVARD AND NORTH <br />ST. PETER STREET RUNNING NORTH, FROM THE NORTH LINE OF <br />ST. VINCENT STREET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF THE ALLEY NORTH <br />OF ST. VINCENT STREET <br />and <br />FROM THE NORTH LINE OF THE ALLEY NORTH OF ST. VINCENT <br />STREET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF NAPOLEON STREET. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: <br />Lots Numbered 59 to 70 inclusive, Sorinis <br />Second Addition to the Town of Lowell <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 22nd day of July, and on the <br />29th day of July, 1955, in the South Bend Tribune and Tri-County News. <br />This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 8th day of 8th day of August, <br />1955, at 10:00 A. Bickel <br />Board of Pub is Works & Safety <br />A petition to vacate alley between lots Nos. 207 and 208 of the Third Plat of <br />Northwest Addition to the City of South Bend, was examined and referred to the City <br />Plan Commission for investigation and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: <br />The Board next examined police officerts report concerning damaged S-T-O-P sign <br />at the intersection of Calvert and Leer Streets, the night of July 15th and referred the <br />report to Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller. <br />The following sign installations were approved by the Board: <br />Stop Signs- Southeast corner of Oakcrest and 35th Street <br />On both sides on Dundee Street at Jefferson Street <br />On both sides at intersection of Kaley and Dunham Streets <br />On both.sides on Donald Street at Chapin Street <br />On both sides on Arthur Street at Madison Street <br />-Yield Right of Way Sign - on Colf ax Avenue at Tuxedo Drive <br />12-Minute limit sign - on first meter east of St. Joseph Street <br />on the north side of E. Jefferson Boulevard. <br />Then appeared before the Board Attorney Roland Obenchain, Jr., and discussed with <br />the Board matters pertaining to the securing of right of way to extend Colfax Avenue <br />east of Ironwood Drive. Attorney Obenchain agreed to contact his clientimmediately by <br />telephone or telegraph and inform the Board as to whether or not the City's appraisal <br />value of property involved is acceptable to the owner. <br />Excavation Bond, in the sum of $2,000.00, for Stanley E. Wesolowski was examined <br />and approved. <br />Contractors Bonds each in the sum of (!',I 000 00 were examined and a roved for <br />� 4P <br />the following contractors: <br />A. D. Builders <br />John Krzyzaniak <br />Eugene W. Lauderback <br />Joseph Rothwell <br />Wayne L. Seaver. <br />There being no further business to come before <br />at 11:30 A.
