3'3 <br />U <br />• <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, <br />at 11:30 A. M. <br />• <br />Attest: JP= T <br />Clerk <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />July 12, 1955 <br />�to Napoleon Boulevard 'subject only to retention of necessary utilit easements, and <br />:this was referred to the Engineering Department for further investigation and report. <br />The Board examined Certification of Insurance furnished by Indemnity Insurance <br />HCompany of North America for Clark Aerial Survey Corporation and ordered certificate <br />filed with the contract. <br />Defective claim (lack of signature) in the amount of $10.00, for recovery of cost <br />.!of car door repair, due to accident involving city -owned Studebaker truck (Accident <br />':Report No. 41505) was rejected by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />Petition, dated July 1, 1955, for the vacation of the East and West Alley running <br />:;from Ironwood East to Congress Avenue, between Solomon and Union Street, was examined <br />:and -referred to the City Plan Commission for investigation and recommendation. <br />The attention of the Board was called to the existing need for two additional <br />trunk lines for the City Hall switchboard, There being no funds available in the <br />1955 appropriation for telephone service, the Board directed the additional cost be <br />included in the 1956 budget and the installation deferred accordingly. <br />Excavatorts Bond, in the sum of $5,000.00, was examined and approved for McIntyre <br />& Jones . <br />Contractorts Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined and approved for <br />the, following contractors: <br />Black & Anderson Construction Co., Inc. <br />Forest Guise <br />George Harber <br />Melvin L. Humphrey d/b/a Melvin L. Humphrey & Son <br />Vladimir Penzenik <br />Thomas R. Talboon <br />Leonard Wisinski <br />the meeting was adjourned <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held at 10:30 A. M., Tuesday, <br />July 12, 1955 for the purpose of considering the tabulation and recommendation of <br />the City Engineer, R. S. Andrysiak, in the matter of the awarding of contract for <br />the improvement of Portage Avenue from Keller Street to Lathrop Avenue. Mr. J. A. <br />Bickel was absent. <br />The Board awarded the contract to Rieth-Riley Construction Company on their low <br />bid of $W,130.00, contingent upon the preparation of contractural documents and <br />the providing of the required bond. <br />There being no further business to come before this meeting, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 11:00 A.
