<br />The Board first examined and approved construction of canopy on
<br />at 1211 Mishawaka Avenue, as indicated on drawing submitted by Arthur
<br />ident, South Bend Glass Works.

<br />The Board next examined and approved canopies to be constructed on the Verwilst
<br />Building, 1507-1509 Portage Avenue, and on building under construction at 958 Lincoln
<br />Way East, with the stipulation that these canopies comply with the Municipal Building
<br />Code, and these were referred to the Building Commissioner for his approval.
<br />A petition, dated May 19, 1955, addressed to the Board from Garden Homes, Inc.,
<br />over the signature of G. Burt Ford, attorney, RE: Corrective Plat of Belleville Fourth
<br />Unit Garden Homes, Inc. was examined and referred to the City Planning Commission for
<br />consideration.
<br />The Board then examined the request of Sollitt Construction Co., Inc., for per-
<br />mission to close the north and south alley on the east s-de of the addition under
<br />construction to the J. C. Penney Store Building, north from Wayne Street for a distance
<br />of approximately 132 feet for a period of five months.
<br />The Board granted approval, subject to the contractor providing the regulation
<br />bond requirements of the City. Contract Supplement #8 which was tentatively approved
<br />Jan. 24th, was given final approval this date.
<br />The Board examined and authorized release of Purchase Order BW7769, covering
<br />equipment for the Building Commissionerts office, for which recent transfer of funds
<br />was consumated.for this specific purpose.
<br />Then appeared before the Board, Mr. Donald Medow, representing Ben Medow, Inc.,
<br />asking permission to conduct a parade comprising not more than six automobiles, on
<br />downtown streets, Thursday, May 26th. Inasmuch as no noise or public address system
