Klosinski, P.E., Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Project No. 117-027 Farmington 14A Lift Station Rehabilitation <br />Award Recommendation <br />DATE: November 20, 2017 <br />On November 14, 2017, the Board of Public Works opened and read bids for the above <br />project. The Division of Utilities reviewed the documents and finds the information correct and <br />complete with one exception. Bowen Engineering Corporation miscalculated their bid total at <br />$425,300; actual total by addition of their bid items was $475,306.00. All bids were complete <br />except for the one mathematical error. Bowen Engineering Corporation <br />Mathematical Error. $425, 300.00 submitted; Actual $475, 306.00 <br />$475,306.00 <br />The Division of Utilities — Environmental Services recommends award of the contract for <br />Project No. 117-027 Farmington 14A Lift Station Rehabilitation to the lowest, responsive, <br />responsible bidder, John Boettcher Sewer & Excavating (Mishawaka, Indiana) at the <br />total bid price of $360,677.79 lump sum (and unit prices) not to exceed price. Unused <br />allowances will be deducted from the final amount via change order prior to project <br />completion. This recommendation is provided by the Division of Utilities. <br />The Division of Utilities will appropriate sufficient funds from Utilities, Wastewater, Capital <br />Account 642-0630-415-43-66 to fund the project. <br />For questions regarding the above recommendation or the subject project, contact Al Greek <br />(Ext. 4210) or Jacob M.
