REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 14, 2017 356 <br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right to <br />Remonstrate as submitted by Sharon Paul, 20150 Sarah St., South Bend, IN 46637. The Consent <br />indicates that in consideration for permission to tap into public sanitary sewer system of the City, <br />to provide sanitary sewer service to the above referenced property at 20150 Sarah Street (Key # <br />002-1057-2379), the applicant waive(s) and release(s) any and all right to remonstrate against or <br />oppose any pending or future annexation of the property by the City of South Bend. Therefore, <br />Ms. Maradik made a motion that the Consent be approved. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE CONSENT TO ANNEXATION AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS TO <br />REMONSTRATE —18413 FOREST GLADE DRIVE — SEWER/WATER <br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right to <br />Remonstrate as submitted by Pat and Jill Walsh, P.O. Box 619 Granger IN 46530. The Consent <br />indicates that in consideration for permission to tap into public water/sanitary sewer system of <br />the City, to provide water/sanitary sewer service to the above referenced property at 18413 <br />Forest Glade Dr (Key # 002-1014-0300), the applicants waive(s) and release(s) any and all rights <br />to remonstrate against or oppose any pending or future annexation of the property by the City of <br />South Bend. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the Consent be approved. Ms. Dorau <br />seconded the motion, which carried. <br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT RENEWALS <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Lauren Trapp, Division of Environmental Services, <br />submitted the following Wastewater Discharge Permit(s) and recommended approval of their <br />renewal: <br />TK Finishing, 3702 W Sample Street <br />Imagineering Finishing Technologies, 3722 Foundation Court <br />There being no further discussion, upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau <br />and carried, the permit renewals were approved. <br />RATIFY APPROVAL AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Ms. Donna Hanson, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Contractor and <br />Excavation Bonds be ratified pursuant to Resolution 100-2000 and/or released as follows: <br />Business <br />Bond Type <br />Approved/Released <br />Effective Date <br />Willis Construction Co <br />Contractor <br />Approved <br />November 2, 2017 <br />R&R Visual Incorporated <br />Excavation <br />Released <br />May 25, 2017 <br />Foster Builders, Inc. <br />Excavation <br />Released <br />July 27, 2017 <br />Michiana Contracting, Inc. <br />Excavation <br />Released <br />June 10, 2017 <br />Jon Freeman <br />Occupancy <br />Approved <br />October 30, 2017 <br />Ms. Maradik made a motion that the bonds approval and/or release as outlined above be ratified. <br />Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. Maradik stated that a request to pay the following claims in the amounts indicated has been <br />received by the Board; each claim is fully supported by an invoice; the person receiving the <br />goods or services has approved the claims; and the claims have been filed with the City Fiscal <br />Officer and certified for accuracy. <br />Name <br />Amount of Claim <br />Date <br />City of South Bend <br />1 $1,294,987.47 <br />1 11/14/2017 <br />Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that after review of the expenditures, the claims be <br />approved as submitted. Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, which carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Ms. Pam Claeys thanked the Board, the Engineering and the Street Departments, Ms. Kara <br />Boyles, and Ms. Theresa Harrison for their help with Hildreth Street traffic and alley problems. <br />She noted after completion of the I.U.S.B. remodeling, everything seems to be good. <br />Ms. Clara McDaniels introduced herself as the new Assistant City Attorney, and new acting <br />Board of Works Attorney. <br />
