The Board next examined blueprints of the S. S. Kresge Company Construction Department, Detroit, Michigan, covering extensive construction now in progress on their store No. 101, Incated at 201 to 205 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, and approved the indicated canopies, with the stipulation that these canopies comply in every way with the Building Code of the City of South Bend. Blueprints were then referred by the Board to the Building Commissioner for his examination and<study. The Board next considered and, with the recommendation of the consulting engineers, Consoer, Townsend and Associates, approved Contract Supplement No. l of Contract No. 5-B, Paschen Contractors, Inc. A petition, dated January 18, 1955, for the improvement of West Ewing Avenue, .'from the east line of Gertrude Street to Olive Street,by the construction of pavement !Iwas examined and referred to the Engineer for investigation. The request of the Health Department that legal advertising proceed immediately=; to secure bids to supply two new cars for that department, was granted, and the Clerk directed to advertise accordingly.
