246 <br />Three letters received by the Department of Public Works and Safety from Sobenite, <br />Incorporated, Roach -Appleton Manufacturing Company, and Lewneco Theatre Corporation, <br />respectively, all pertaining to sewage service charges, were examined and referred to <br />Mr. R. E. Grant, City Water Works. <br />Certificate of Insurance issued by Employers Mutual Liability Insurance Company <br />of Wisconsin, at River Forest, Illinois, under date of September 301 1954 for Paschen <br />Contractors, Incorporated, and Paschen Bros. Construction Company, 2739 Elston Avenue, <br />Chicago, Illinois , was examined and ordered filed with all papers pertaining to Inter- <br />ceptor Sewer Contracts 5-A and 5-B. <br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT <br />The request of Traffic Engineer E. H. Miller for an additional week in which to <br />survey and report upon the taxi -stand situation, was granted by the Board. <br />The Board approved the installation of STOP signs at the following locations: <br />Marine Street (both sides) at Ewing Avenue <br />N. W, corner of Marine Street at Fairview <br />The Board approved the installation of Yield Right of Way Signs at the. following <br />locations: <br />S. E.'corner of marine Street at Fairview <br />Indiana Avenue (both sides) at Vernon .street <br />Contractorts Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined and approved for <br />the following four (4) contractors: <br />Charles W. Aulm <br />Charles V. Berta <br />Louis A. Buda <br />Midland Engineering Co. Inc. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 11:05 A.M. <br />1� <br />Attest: 4d�"�41!f <br />"ADDENDUM: VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2802 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by the <br />Board of Public Works and Safety for the vacation of the ALLEY SOUTH OF CALVERT STREET <br />.from Swygart Street east to the west line of alley between Swygart and Webster Street, <br />sunder Vacation Resolution No. 2802. The Clerk df the Board having shown sufficient <br />proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances <br />having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that <br />the said resolution be finally adopted and the said alley be vacated. The Engineering <br />!Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the assessment of benefits <br />and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards of <br />damages and the assessments of benefits in the matter of the vacation of alley south of <br />,Calvert Street from Swygart Street east to west line of alley between Swygart and Webster <br />Street under Vacation Resolution No. 2802. <br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in the <br />;City Hall at 11:00 A. M. on the 8th day of November, 1954 for the purpose of hearing and <br />receiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said vacation, and <br />the.
