Kosciuszko Street <br />and bid bond accompanied <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />the bid. <br />ITEM EXTENSION <br />- No. 1, 2, & 3............. $3411.25 <br />Completion <br />• <br />date on or before August 30, 1954- <br />The above bids were referred <br />to the Engineer for tabulation and report. <br />The Board approved the <br />change over from State Highway to the City of South Bend <br />of the following stop and go <br />signals, in accord with Change Order for Electric Current <br />Agreement No. 11998, and the <br />City hereby becomes responsible for the payment for <br />current consumed. The Board <br />directed the Clerk to inform the Indiana & Michigan Electric. <br />Company that the City assumes <br />this responsibility and anticipates regular billing <br />accordingly. The signals involved are, as follows: <br />U. S. 31 - <br />Michigan Street and North Shore Drive <br />U. S. 31 - <br />U. S. 31 - <br />Michigan Street and Sample Street <br />Michigan Street and Broadway <br />U. S. 31 - <br />Yichigan Street and Calvert Street <br />U. S. 31 - <br />Michigan Street and Indiana Avenue <br />U. S. 33 - <br />Lincoln Way East and Tveyckenham Drive <br />S. R. 2 - Western Avenue and Chapin Street <br />S. R. 2 - lNestern Avenue and William Street. <br />The Board reviewed bids opened at the previous regular meeting to provide <br />transportation equipment for the Chief Inspector on the Sewage Works Construction projec <br />and awarded contract to Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Company, as offering the equipment best <br />adapted to the specific requirements. <br />An excavation Bond in the sum of $5,000.00, binding P,"illard T. Hant_man, a <br />principal, and Fidelity & Deposit Company of 'iaryland, as sureties, was examined and <br />approved by the Boarg, and also Excavation Bond in the sum of $2,000.00 for the Fishe.l <br />Company, was examined and approved by the Board. <br />A Maintenance Bond, in the sum of $1,000.00, binding Place and Company, Inc. <br />as principal, and the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company of Hamilton, Ohio, as surety, <br />was examined and approved by the Board. <br />Contractors Bonds, each in the sure of A ,000.00, were examined and approved <br />by the Board for the following six contractors: <br />Gerald L. Enoch George barber <br />The Fishel Company Carl H. 1:1cClellan <br />Herron Murray P. L. Wilson <br />The Board then examined a letter and descriptive literature from the Commerford <br />Decal Company, Westwood, New Jersey, relative to the use of the official City Seal on <br />city owned automotive equipment. The use of this type of marking was recommended to <br />the Board, by Chief of Police Richard J. Gillen and Director of City Planning, R. L. <br />Huff. The Board approved the use of such decals and directed the Clerk to _proceed to <br />obtain a supply sufficient for so marking the present equipment. <br />The Board approved the placing of a YIELD RIGHT Or WAY sign on the southwest <br />corner of Napoleon Boulevard at Stanfield Street, replacing old S-T-O-P sign. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 11:50 A. �Rr. <br />Attest: <br />Clerk <br />
