s 'COLFAX AVENUE continued - AL TOMIASZEWSKI A Non -Collusion Affidavit 426 So. Kosciuszko Street and bid bond accompanied South Bend, Indiana. the bid. ITEM EXTENSION - No. 1, 2, & 3............. $3411.25 Completion • date on or before August 30, 1954- The above bids were referred to the Engineer for tabulation and report. The Board approved the change over from State Highway to the City of South Bend of the following stop and go signals, in accord with Change Order for Electric Current Agreement No. 11998, and the City hereby becomes responsible for the payment for current consumed. The Board directed the Clerk to inform the Indiana & Michigan Electric. Company that the City assumes this responsibility and anticipates regular billing accordingly. The signals involved are, as follows: U. S. 31 - Michigan Street and North Shore Drive U. S. 31 - U. S. 31 - Michigan Street and Sample Street Michigan Street and Broadway U. S. 31 - Yichigan Street and Calvert Street U. S. 31 - Michigan Street and Indiana Avenue U. S. 33 - Lincoln Way East and Tveyckenham Drive S. R. 2 - Western Avenue and Chapin Street S. R. 2 - lNestern Avenue and William Street. The Board reviewed bids opened at the previous regular meeting to provide transportation equipment for the Chief Inspector on the Sewage Works Construction projec and awarded contract to Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Company, as offering the equipment best adapted to the specific requirements. An excavation Bond in the sum of $5,000.00, binding P,"illard T. Hant_man, a principal, and Fidelity & Deposit Company of 'iaryland, as sureties, was examined and approved by the Boarg, and also Excavation Bond in the sum of $2,000.00 for the Fishe.l Company, was examined and approved by the Board. A Maintenance Bond, in the sum of $1,000.00, binding Place and Company, Inc. as principal, and the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company of Hamilton, Ohio, as surety, was examined and approved by the Board. Contractors Bonds, each in the sure of A ,000.00, were examined and approved by the Board for the following six contractors: Gerald L. Enoch George barber The Fishel Company Carl H. 1:1cClellan Herron Murray P. L. Wilson The Board then examined a letter and descriptive literature from the Commerford Decal Company, Westwood, New Jersey, relative to the use of the official City Seal on city owned automotive equipment. The use of this type of marking was recommended to the Board, by Chief of Police Richard J. Gillen and Director of City Planning, R. L. Huff. The Board approved the use of such decals and directed the Clerk to _proceed to obtain a supply sufficient for so marking the present equipment. The Board approved the placing of a YIELD RIGHT Or WAY sign on the southwest corner of Napoleon Boulevard at Stanfield Street, replacing old S-T-O-P sign.
