;'Terrace Addition.
The Hon. Walter Glass appeared before the Board in the matter of complaints
;'received by the Councilman, concerning garbage collection in Sunnymede. A period of
!;'discussion and argument ensued. City Engineer, R. S. Andrysiak, pointing out that in
','fairness to all the citizens, special carrying service could not be furnished to any
;None section or area. It was the decision of the Board that the complainants represented
'an extreme minority, in view of the statement of the Superintendent of the Sanitation
;Department, H. M. Tomlinson, that this department had made a survey of all areas of
The City, where garbage must be placed at the curb, and this survey had indicated almost';
100% cooperation on the part of the householders at this time. Superintendent Tomlinson
further stated that in these areas where garbage is set out at the curb, if the garbage •
is at the curb by 7 otclock in the morning, it will be emptied within a matter of three
hours at the maximum.
The Board then established the following regulation for garbage removal, effective'
this date:
In areas where there are no alleys, the garbage
will be picked up at the curb on designated pick-up
days, and in those areas where there are alleys,
garbage will be pinked up within five feet of
i the alley line on the designated pick-up days.
'f Garbage shall be in containers of not less than
ten gallons, nor more than twenty-five gallons,
of metal, with matching cover, and with handles
sufficiently strong for workmen to empty conven-
G iently. No container with contents is to weigh
more than sixty pounds.
'i Garbage shall be wrapped to prevent exposure to
air and flies.
